I and 1000,s of others would also not be playing if it was console only. Back on topic, ive played many mmorpgs over the last 15 years, ffxiv by far has the worse spam ive seen for a p2p, which could b sorted wit a simple hotfix, other than this im enjoying it and looking forward to pvp as it seems pvp wil rely on teamwork and not op,d classes 1 shotting!

The PC version (869,000 copies sold) alone has over double the amount of PS3 players (424,000 copies sold). You give console gamers a bad name and sicken me with your ignorance.

To contribute. I really dislike the Gil Spammers, definitely the worst I have seen in any MMO. But I trust they are fixing it, and I found that if you use your mouse to click and scroll on the chat slider, it stops the chat from automatically scrolling down with next text. It makes copy, and pasting their names loads easier. If you have a mouse and keyboard that is.

sorry but,reality is most games do NOT tolerate it.here are some simple fixes,block tell/shout/yell till level 15,if it takes 2 hrs they will not do it. allow when you click on name to to add to blacklist.have people monitor if spam delete account IMMEDIATELY.site ban accounts.i am sick and tired of spending 5 min per town that i go to blocking spammers.ALLOW blist to be account based.i made a new char and had to block the same people.

The spamming wasn't that bad until that third party site was hacked. A lot of people used the same login/password on that site for the actual game (and likely other games and sites).

I have a blist full of those bastards lol. But when I get the personal chat ones I get to use the spiffy macro /blist add <r> which auto blists the last person to send you a tell. So as soon as I here the tone I do check the message at a glance and then hit my macro and that person is blisted. Yeah it still sucks to get these but I just kinda view it as a mob attack and my macro is the spell to kill that particular mob.

The fact that the free trial period is ending won't have any affect on the problem. Some names are obviously created with that intent of making it harder to blist, such as Dasdfgd Adfgarf or some such. But increasingly we're seeing hacked accounts that have been hijacked and turned into RMT spammers, with names that people clearly put thought into and that are tied to the game's mythology. RMT doesn't care about the trial period ending because they'll just hack accounts and use an already paid for account to do their dirty work.
