I actually think certain aspects of this game like crafting and gathering are much easier on the PS3. Even solo questing works fine. Granted, the graphics aren't great but I find the controls to be much more comfortable. The major and obvious setbacks are endgame raids and FATEs.

On topic however, I honestly don't know. I went and got this for PC because of how the PS3 can't handle many characters at once. I thought it was a myth or a poor connection issue with the PS3, but I tried it out myself and it's definitely an issue. Not saying I have the best connection but it's the same connection that I'm now using for my PC and it works great.

The PS3 will handle it just fine as long as you have a decent internet connection. You only have problems if you walk into an area where there is already 30+ people casting stuff. If you are part of the group from the start its a non issue.
