He is the final boss of the current story progress, we may not be even close to an expansion. The current story continues until they decide on another story arc and an expansion with it. He is far from the true final boss.

i find ultima weapon phase 1 the hardest boss in entire Preatorium
yet in after credits lahabrea appear once again
and maybe we will fight him again but way stronger next time possible after beating bahamut in binding coil

I have to say I was also very disappointed in just how damn generic he was. Two great Garlean villains get rushed out the door in Praetorium, and the last boss is a guy with silver hair and a black robe. Really? C'mon now. I applauded Square for stepping outside their comfort zone with Galenth's design, but c'mon now.

Heres a spoiler for you: OP has one job at 50 and, just now, finally beat the story mode. In order to not feel as though he is inferior, OP comes to the forums to brag about how easy it was for him and seven of his friends to take down the final opponent in the story.
Please note that after this fight, during a cutscene, you hear the Opening Theme to Final Fantasy. If youhad played any of the other final fantasy games, specifically Final Fantasy (FFI), you would understand that this is the END OF THE PROLOGUE!!! This was supposed to be easily beatable after a comparatively short time playing. You didn't beat the game, you finished the opening quest.

I have to agree with the OP. From a game design standpoint, the idea is to make sure players don't fail during the last battle. After all, it's pretty anti-climatic to get a wipe right at the end and having to do the whole series of bosses from scratch. But they just made him too easy, which is also rather anti-climatic. They could have made the battle a bit more impressive without risking a party wipe. For example by giving him an ability that lowers the tanks HP to 1 but then either make him stop attacking for a short time or change the target. There are a lot of little tricks like that, but it seems the battle was a bit rushed.
But meh, it's not a huge problem in my opinion. As others have stated before it's more of a mid boss and there's a chance that they'll make up for it later down the road. :D
It's truly remarkable how some people can twist every topic into a disgusting mess of internet toxicity.

It was disappointing but at the same time they had to have some way to get Thancred back unharmed lol.
It should have been a separate fight, maybe they could have had him as the last boss in AK or something instead.

The fight is more thematic. I don't see the problem here.
That said, I would have preferred if it had been a solo battle. It would have been more personal that way.

THought I should point out that only one Garlean was 'rushed out the door' in Praetorium. The other is still very much alive and likely to be returning later in the story... his rivalry with Cid clearly has more to it.I have to say I was also very disappointed in just how damn generic he was. Welcome to almost every last boss of the Final Fantasy series![]()

OP, the title of this topic itself is a spoil. Knowing that you actually get to fight this character, and that he's indeed a "joke" in terms of difficulty, is a clear spoiler. You just outed the "end", or rather the beginning of the next chapter, for a lot of people. Not nice. You could have titled this thread "About the last boss" *** SPOILERS ***. I don't know if you can change the title, but I strongly suggest you do if it's possible.
