SCH is a healer, SMN and ACN are DPS. You cannot que for DF as SCH for a DPS role, it is impossible so you have not done it. You can however que as ACN which is what you most likely did. If you want to DPS then unlock SMN and play that instead.

I'd also like to add in case the OP isn't aware, Aracanist is meant for more solo play while the jobs are more for party play. They can all be played solo or with groups, but jobs give skills and specialization that works better with groups.
I also don't think he's a troll, the mechanics can be confusing for people. It's possible he didn't have the job crystal equipped or wasn't aware of the role spot on the duty finder, or how jobs work.

Thank you, and see, here's another confusing part. As scholar, I can go through my hunting log and my kills get credited to the Arcanist log. Same goes with White Mage and Conjurers hunting log, hence another reason I assumed DPS over HealingI'd also like to add in case the OP isn't aware, Aracanist is meant for more solo play while the jobs are more for party play. I think you're getting "Class" and "Job" confused. Arcanist is your Class. If you don't equip a soul to use a job, then Arcanist is DPS. Arcanist is the only class with two souls atm: Summoner and Scholar.
When you equip the Summoner soul, you are a DPS role. When you equip the Scholar soul, you are a Healer role. If you queue for dungeons as a scholar, you are queuing for the healer role of the party. If you do not want to be healer, then you need to either unequip the Scholar soul so you revert to Arcanist, or you need to equip the Summoner soul instead.

I don't see how that's confusing. You are still the base class, WHM stems from CNJ, you are just a CNJ with more healing-based skills. Exp earned as a job credit the exp to the base class, and vice versa which of course means it's the same Hunting Log. It's really not that difficult.

Which is why I assumed the Scholar job was DPS, seeing that the Level 30 for it is Arcanist, not ConjurerI don't see how that's confusing. Scholar is Arcanist with a sub class of Conjurer which is why it's a healer. Summoner is Arcanist with a subclass of Thaumaturge which is why it is a DPS. It's not very confusing at all especially since all the jobs have color coded party icons, green = healer, red = DPS, blue = Tank. Scholar, White Mage and Conjurer all have green icons while Arcanist and Summoner have red. The first skill you unlock as a Scholar is a heal.

If you could heal and dps and you were not pulling hate then keep on doing whatcha doing. Last night it was myself and 2 friends at temple of qarn, I'm a blm my friends are blm and pld. We DF'd for our healer and it was a scholar. I was wondering if they'd be able to handle it because our last healer was really new for some reason and wasn't keeping our tank alive.
Anyways, he kept the tank healed and his dps kept up with us! We blew through that dungeon so fast it was such a nice relief to get someone who just hit the ground running. So don't be discouraged if you're helping the team in more than one way. That's the way it should be done. Just remember your first priority.

So despite the primary subclass being healer, gaining a healing pet and your role icon turning from red to green, you still thought you were DPS? The class/job quests introduce and teach you about your role, you should have paid more attention to them, especially the level 30 Arcanist>Scholar quest.
