What are ya gonna do? Quit after being charged, or just get over it? That really seems to be your only two options at the moment. I'd say to just suck it up and smile that you get veteran rewards early.

Technically, he didn't even need to purchase ARR. He could've payed $15 sub fee instead of $30 game fee and gotten 52 days of game time.

That is because 1.0 trial codes ARE purchase codes. They were complimentary upgraded to full paid accounts due to poor sales. They basically gave all trial code users a free copy of the game.

From what I can tell, they told you that you are entitled to the 30 days if you register the code.
You have been able to play because you technically are a 1.0 player, and you've been playing based on that starting with the early access, which you had to put a code in for.

yeah, sadly; the key is not valid (just tried it -.-) states that it's already redeemed on another account (my current play account) heh.

And I totally get the policy thing, it's just a bummer that they weren't more forward about the game being a full version of the game, despite their own user agreement stating it's only a trial. They should definitely of had a warning telling players who received buddy passes not to buy the game, rather than just let them go out and buy the game.. ><

Lol, I didn't mention anything about quitting. That's a sad excuse for anyone to use, no one ever quits. I love the game. I'm just bummed they are taking my money, + my extra 29.99, and telling me otherwise, without a warning stating otherwise. The veteran rewards are pretty meh. Yeah, I got a potion of fantasia which I'll never use, because I am happy with my Lalafell., and a precursor minion which can't even be used in a dungeon to follow you around xD, only in the world; but there are so many cooler minions that the vet minion.

I understand your frustration but what they said was true. I am a 1.0 account holder and the ONLY reason I got the extra 30 days of trial was because I bought the PS3 version of the game. Had I bought the PC version I would have wasted money like you did. Buddy pass codes did enable players free access to the game beyond the "trial" period due to the horrible state of the game which I believe is the reason why they were turned into 1.0 service accounts instead of 7 day trial accounts.

My friend who I gave the buddy pass to back in 1.0 bought it for ps3 and received his 30 day trial as well.

As long as the account is created before 2.0 betas, it's called a 1.0 account and all 1.0 accounts don't get the 30 day.

Buddy Pass codes were full versions of the game from the beginning. There is no 'trial' code. There are only game codes and you can subscribe or not subscribe.

Buddy Pass came with a 'trial' but it was always true that after the trial was completed you could opt to pay for a subscription without paying for the actual game. Mainly because Buddy Pass codes were full copies of the game to start with. (I have one and used it from the CE)

i'm not sure, maybe? what is the 1.0 sub fee? I can pay for 1 character at 12.99 or 8 characters for 14.99 O_o, both seem normal to me, but I haven't seen an otherwise. Do new accounts get that option? If true, then I am okay with this.

It would sound harsh, but no... ... 1.0 accounts alone does not get a cheaper sub fee. You need to qualify for Legacy status to get the cheaper sub fee. I know this because I bought this game few years ago with some friends, I played a few days and stopped, they carried on till the end of the original FFIXV. Now they have a cheaper sub fee and I don't.

Nonlegacy 1.0 accounts only will receive beta access.
