You can't hide the helmet on Darklight gear. It doesn't even count as a helmet. It counts as part of the chest.

I never got the darklight armor. Didn't know it was connected...which honestly seems like a major oversight in basic functional armor design.
The entire point of the feature was to prevent things like this, so it does seem pretty stupid to have your endgame gear unable to use it. And for that matter, what excuse did they have for not being able to lower cowls again? Because if it's clipping, they have a mountain of that already.
