Yes and besides that's what a voice chat server is for. Technology is amazing, you and your FC friends might want to test out a chat server.

Wow what a great idea! Thank you very much for your advice. Knowing that I can just use voice chat, I have no need to ever want SE to fix their terrible chat system.

Occasionally I am in a DF party (or even a ls party) and someone is playing a job they are not so used to. I would like to send them a /tell advising to do something different (like for example remind WHM to turn cleric stance off when heals are needed or ask SCH to put the pixie next to the tank when himself have to stay away etc.) and when I say this in the party chat, people often take it that I am slacking off their skills, when in fact I am just trying to help...
The /tells definately need to be brought to the Duties, I will not have 20 linkshells just so I can talk with my friends privately.
