Honestly I'm amazed that OP wasn't immediately booted from DF parties for being a gaijin. OP, are you being a fake JP? Do you speak any English in these parties, or do they know you're a gaijin?

Nope. They should know if I'm gaijin if they look at the social menu. And I speak japanese in the party.
Not to be racist or so whatever.. But back in my FFXI times, i always partied with jp players as all the time they will remember to bring their own sneak/invis pots and willing to wait patiently while i trying to form party, they are also know when to release SC during battles.. As for NA players.. I wont say much but it is the opposite side of what i mention just now..
For FFXIV 1.0 & ARR, more or less is the same but there is no much difference to get whatever players since this is more "Casual" than FFXI..
PS: Im pretty sure those who have played FFXI for long time like me (8yrs) will understand how jp players play.. This actually influence alot in this ffxiv:arr..

I play with Japanese people all the time and until recently I was typing in Romanji+Autotranslate (Alphabetic version of Japanese) and the Japanese never said a word about me being a Gaijin though it was plainly obvious. My Japanese is good enough I can pretty much understand anything they say. They were always very helpful and when we got a tank that had no idea how to tank (For some reason I run into a LOT of JP players who don't know how to tank, like not even using flash once bad). However there are also JP players that other than the set "Yoroshiku" at the beginning and "Otsukaresama" at the end DO NOT TALK AT ALL even when you try to talk to them (Maybe PS3+No Keyboard?). So it's not all roses.

True, but better than seeing people bashing each other lol.I play with Japanese people all the time and until recently I was typing in Romanji+Autotranslate (Alphabetic version of Japanese) and the Japanese never said a word about me being a Gaijin though it was plainly obvious. Then again, there's many FC members here that doesn't talk at all because they are on PS3 and dont have keyboard
Yeah. Honne and Tatemae?

I've played almost exclusively since FF XIV launched (1.0 mind you) on JP servers. In 2.0, I've gone into dungeons only posting the OCCASIONAL statement in auto-translate. And not once have I been booted or had a JP player leave due to me being "gaijin"
(BTW, you shouldn't be using that term. It's extremely offensive for those who actually understand what it means and its origin.)

Gaijin is NOT offensive :-P I don't know about its historical origins but even so in modern day Japan this is not an offensive term and is often (I wanna say 80-90% of the time) coupled with -san as in "gaijin-san" so how can you interpret that has having any intention of being disrespectful?. When people talk about "gaijin" being offensive it's just over sensitive P.C. bull crap. I've been living here for 6 years and speak fluent Japanese. Gaijin is not as derogatory as most foreigners who know two words of Japanese seem to think.

Please tell me which part of my original post on this thread that generalizing about everyone in the NA/EU

I by no mean have no intention to speak ill on our fellow english speaking players, be it NA/EU. I didn't say anything about Japanese being much better, JP > NA; JP > All; No. I posted this thread to share you my experience that I had during hours spent on this server (And that happen to be Japan server). That's it.Love and Peace to everyone
