"extraordinary losses" is an accounting term for losses due to something odd that happened, such as a tornado, earthquake, 9/11 (for instance), tsunami, etc. This isn't that harmful because all SE cares about is that its investors keep investing, when its a loss due to extraordinary events the investor will most likely think its not that big a deal as SE will crawl out of this hole within a year, so I wouldn't see SE scrapping any major projects to alleviate losses. i.e., they wont scrap a Final Fantasy project because of this, but most likely something not so definitive of the company itself, like other games they might be publishing.

I feel that SE will learn nothing from this. Continuing with there secretive development, thus forcing the community to live with whatever they wish to serve up. Like a restaurant not taking your order and just telling you its going to be good, then when its served you find out it has peanuts and your allergic.
