I can imagine how off putting it would be for a new player to come into the tech forums and see floods of these complaints and the obvious SE answer my ticket threads that are beginning to appear. It's gonna be sad if the game flops just because they are so inundated with tickets, live chat queues and phone queues, and the (what looks like) the inability to solve peoples problems efficiently. Kudos to SE for a great game, but from what I'm seeing I'm so glad I've not had to contact support myself yet and dread the day that I do have to contact them. I really feel for everyone who's not able to play the game and going through hell trying to get their tickets answered

    I still find it amazing how many people don't use a security token, be it hardware or software.

    Yeah, I bought the physical security token the moment i could cause i had been hacked in the past on wow as mentioned, i didnt trust it. My gf however, she had never been hacked and what are the chances her out of thousands would get hit. I did tell her though, at this point if she DOES get luck and get her account back, she was going to buy the physical security token and would change her password every couple of days till it arrived to ensure this never happens again.

    I played for 4 days and i started to receive the error 3201 on Friday and now i got: This service account is currently suspended.

    Owch I really hope that she gets her account back. My husband and I always use security tokens to games that use them if that makes any sense. We always try to use as much security as possible and thankfully *touches wood* we have never been hacked and I hope that we never do! I know that SE posted about security breaches from other companies that are possibly causing the hacks, but I dunno, I feel there's more to it than SE are letting on!

    Yeah, I hope so to, ignoring Square Enix's poor customer service and support, the game is glorious, it's very beautiful graphically and aesthetically and is a lot of fun to play and I would hate to leave it, but if this is allowed to stand, I will not support a company any longer that would allow this to happen and prevent her from getting her account back when she's the victim ultimately, it just isn't right in any sense.

    I'm more amazed at how much SE's security relies on something like a token in the first place.
    Any other game I've played has been fine with a username/password, but of course, it's all retrospect for me. I've got a token, now just need my account...

    Eh if you would have read my posts I did change my password almost as soon as I saw the issue as well as put the ticket in as for the token never said I would not. I can just use the I pad for that. But really all things aside there has to be a security issue on there side because granted I will admit that there are those who just do stupid things. But it seems that everyone that has not used a token is starting to get hit. More and more posts are cropping up and honestly more and more post are cropping up about the token as well. As for what I will do if I do not get my account back it sucks but that will be it for me I choose to spend my money on my kids for the most part and this was suppose to be a treat for my birth day getting up there in age. So spending another chunk of cash for a game just for me is out I can justify a game for the Xbox or ps3 because the kids play just as much as me. You are right though not giving back hacked accounts is just lame and is another sign of poor customer service I was just happy not to get a poor service rep today.

    All I can say at this point is good luck to everyone who has to go through this. From the way things are looking at this point I am sort of having doubts my girlfriend will get her account back with the way the support rep I talked to said that there isn't a guarantee she will get her account back. /sigh

    Be warned everyone, your account may seriously be SOL. As I mentioned earlier, my girlfriend got through to customer support on the phone after waiting near all day almost and they said they would open an investigation and that she still may not get her account back. Well a few hours later, this is the email she just got.

    "Dear Customer: This notice is to inform you that we have suspended the FINAL FANTASY XIV service account registered to this e-mail for one or more violations of the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement that occurred on 9/23/2013. Specifically, you have violated following Section(s) of the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement.

    SQUARE ENIX ACCOUNT TERMS OF USE 1. Registered Users Use of the Website or Services is limited to those satisfying the following conditions: (b)You represent and warrant that you will not use the Website or Services in any manner that is in violation of this Agreement or of any applicable law or regulation;

    FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement
    2.2 Real Money Trading, Farming and Power-Leveling. You may not sell,purchase or exchange for real-world money or value any in-game currency,accounts, characters, in-game services, or in-game virtual items.     And sure enough, she went to check her mogstation after getting that email. Originally it was like this. [Account Type: Collectors Edition, Service Account Status: 13 days remaining, Bonus: the items from pre-order and collectors edition were listed here] Now it reads [Account Type: This service account cannot be used, Service Account Status: None, Bonus: None] WTF, because her account was compromised and she took the steps to get it back, they decide to perma ban it. This is the extent of Square Enix customer service ladies and gentlemen.
