I really don't have a problem with FATE xp...I don't find it to be all that much from the ones I have done...and they are just plain boring to me (spam blizzard yay). I played Rift and this is all that is...except less exciting...I would rather have Quests. Quest are the backbone of most MMOs...and this one is very lacking in quests...They pay better and offer things to sell or equip or use...why not give us an option to level with quests instead of FATES...I found myself grinding 28-30 on FATES...bored me to death...took 2 days...not fast...boring. No money to speak of earned...just boring...

    At least you can get Gold and stuff and get a hits in. I can't. I have to Aero as fast as I can, because my Stone takes 9482912938 days to cast. I get my AoE, Holy, at level 45 so I'm screwed. The thing loads badly on PS3. [Not sure for PC people.] and lag is Godlike then the mobs die so fast, they moved to the next spot. Welp, dun dun dun! dundundundunn!! -Fanfare tune lol;
I get a Bronze or Silver.
Well if people do not want to lower FATE's well just keep it then, and give other people alternatives to level good.
GW2 DE's were fun, these are not. They didn't spawn constantly and no one ran to DE to DE for EXP because they didn't give a high amount of EXP
and it was just a fun little side thing to do. Other side of the coin here, you have to FATE or else you're boned.

Maybe they should make fates more lvl restricted, dont allow people to lvl sync, and if you're to low lvl make exp gain rediculously low. I like the concept of fate but they implemented wrong.

There is nothing wrong with FATES. After you've got your first 50, there is no other way of leveling up.

Really nobody is forcing you to grind FATES so don't complain when others do. You can easily level your first 50 with mostly quests (except for a few levels) but after that you'll be glad that FATES are catching on so well.

fates are pretty good for leveling when you've done pretty much all the quests in the game. I'll agree there a overdone though. Perhaps it would be nice to see them increase the GC seal reward and lower the EXP reward, thus making them more unique.

and $*)$@!( no to party mob grinding. I did that crap for hundreds of hours in FFXI and it was in no way fun. I'll be glad to never to that garbage again.

    Everything is wrong with FATEs...

OK, maybe not everything, but there are way... WAY too many problems.

The FATE system hogs the spotlight as the only reliable way to gain XP, and thus make itself your only pastime in the world of FFXIV:ARR. Instead of having a varied and fun experience you just grind the same monsters for the next month or so. This is a real problem in modern gaming, because almost every modern game these days has at least a somewhat varied gaming experience. You don't play Mass Effect just for the shooting, you don't play Battlefield just for the driving, you don't play final fantasy just for a Chocobo. When a player falls into the FATE routine he no longer is experiencing a game but forcing himself/herself into a grind - something that can be compared only to a job, like the one the gold spammers and bots are doing. And I doubt anybody seriously wants that. Grinding is not gameplay, it is not gaming, it is not fun. If it were otherwise then it would not even had the negative name in the first place.

Also, If you are pointing out that FATEs are good for leveling up then you are in fact pointing out a flaw in FFXIV. There should not be the one and only way to level up, because then 80% of the game, that whole work Square put into the game, is made void, not important. You might as well spend that time better, like playing another FF title.

I think Square should put more variation into the leves, make them more competitive (as in, for example, making two leves with opposite goals), and more complex.

Did you read my post at all? Or anyone else's for that matter. Not being rude, I just wanna know.
Your first statement is what the entire problem is to begin with.
I'm just thinking out a bit and giving suggestions here. I don't mean to complain anyone else doing FATE's. [I don't think I did anyway.] I don't want to do that for all other 8-9 classes y'know?
We all know your first 50 is a breeze. It's the other classes you must worry about.
I'm not an event planner and so on so my suggestions may suck but Christ, what you want me to do? XD

I'm just throwing in some suggestions. More choices in leveling the better. I never played FFXI but others suggested it so I thought I added it here as well.
