Gotta do something about FATE's and EXP.

Hey everyone, your bff Arri here. I wanted to make my own Snowflake thread about FATE's and all.
LONG POST. Too long, didn't read is at bottom.

Firstly, I wanna state this forum restriction posting is BS. Can we please remove it? I would post this somewhere else but I never can, ever.
Sorry, I can't FATE grind my ass all the way to 50 so I can post in these here forums. Worst forums I ever seen and we're paying to even use these forums, so to speak.

Anyway, I digress a bit lol.
But no seriously, something must be done.
You guys need to either tone down FATE exp or buff up EXP in other places.
    - Make dungeons have some GC seals. The better you ran the dungeon, the more seals you get.
IE. I dunno like, no one dies, so a lot of seals. The amount of time you ran it or so.
This way, people would also wanna dungeons more. You run these low dungeons once, and there's no need anymore. As a dungeon lover, this is sad lol. I hope end-game can fill my dungeon needs lol.

    - Dumbown the time of FATE's. It's not dynamic anymore. FATE's pop up too fast.
    - Dumbdown the EXP. - Yeah why do anything else when FATE's trump it?
    - Buff EXP on quests or something. - A tiny Smidgen of light gleams when I turn in a quest, meanwhile a substantial amount via FATE's.
    - Don't put a limit on Leve's. - Now I didn't craft much but Leve's share with your Battle's quests?
    - I think you should put repeatable quests. - I like to move around and Leve's are meh some times. I mean hey, the more options the better.
    - Party grinder's EXP - Go around mobs and kill em' in groups. Not FATE's. I think people mention about this from FFXI. Seems a lot better than running around like a fool on a Machine, a Horse, a Bird, and Eyeball and a Cat from point A to B to A to C, D E F G! Now I know my ABC'S next time won't you CHANGE THE EXP IN PLACES?
    CHAAAAANGE IT.

FATE's are horribly implemented. No point in doing anything else.
This is why I do not like the 1 character, jack of all everything in games because this is what you have to do. Grind FATE's. It's the only efficient way. I rather start a new character than to do this but I gotta pay extra, that's how they get ya lol. It's not fun you guys. Seriously, I am DYING to be a SCH.
Right now level 16 ACN and I can't move past it. If I finished SCH and then move to BRD, I'd probably have 0 quests. Leve's are good for your beginner levels...further down the road. -Shakes head; Before you guys tell me, "Well there is other methods."
Hunter's Log: is handy. I love it and it's fun. This is a good alt but when that is done...
Guildheist: You're done once, and no point in ever returning. I mean by your 3rd job onward, you pretty much have to do FATE's to get anywhere.
    I like questing. .__.

What are you guys thought about FATE's and leveling subs in general? And don't have a rude remark or tell me to leave and crap. That's annoying and I have posted my 2 cents, and gave suggestions even though I didn't plan it out well, but it's something y'know? I hope later in the patches/expansions there are more ways but I would love to see what the Dev's or whoever has to say in the future. :/
I am not quitting. I'm just concerned a bit. FATE's later may diminish in future months when many people set in stone of this game, and low levels will be sitting there lol. You know like in other MMO's where you call for dungeons all year all day, and no one is there in the beginning because most passed it? FATE's going to be the same eventually. So ya'll need to think ahead a bit too.

TL;DR: Do something about EXP for other methods of leveling and stuff.

Exactly my opinion. I don't like Fates and their influence on the game. It caters to the "Race to the top" Crowd and that's fine I guess. I just ignore them and be done with it. If I want additional classes after the 2 I managed to level to around 40, I'll make a new character.

FATEs can be boring certainly, but leves and quests are so much worse.

the teaming up to kill higher lvl regular mobs and chain the exp probably is there (the old xi way to get exp), but none ever does it cause everyone does fate (which i think is extremely boring) the only thing missing is a lvlsync option for regular pts.

I think fates are awesome, they just end too fast and the level requirements for max gain is stupid. If Im in a fate with level 18 mobs how the hell am I below the level if Im 20. Why is my gains gimped if I soloed the whole event. Other than that Fate rules. There is only enough quest for 1 class to 50. It will be intresting to see what ways other think of to level when they start a new class.

My only question is where will xp be gained from at that point? People are already catching on to mob grinding... In other words, we will back to mob grinding a la FFXI soon enough since you can literally gain TONS of XP on chains if you find a good area to chain.

Depending on the areas that are being chained this will force many items on MB to crash in price as well so I guess it may not be a bad thing for some players but horrible for crafters

They could make the guildhests new rewards repeatable on new classes you start though

IMO the following needs to be done to even out FATEs.

    - Quest XP needs to increase
    - Leves need to have double or even triple the allowance.
    - Repeatable quests needs to be available
    - Perhaps in the long term, have seperate quest data for different classes. Complete this quest as a CNJ, then switch to ARC and complete it again. Once complete on a class, it is forever done for that class.

FATEs are fine, there's other ways to level IF YOU CHOOSE TO, but your comment "no point doing anything else" clearly shows you're only interested in the fastest route to 50, otherwise you wouldn't make such a comment.

No where did I say I wanted the easy way out. FATE's are the fastest route to 50, obviously. I'm barely running them as my WHM and that's my main right now. I am doing the GH, some Leve's and quests. Running into a FATE is just getting rare for me as I usually run past them. I want other methods for other classes. I may as well hold out, until I have to do FATE's to pass my level or just wait until I do subs so I don't get tired out of em early. Which I'm getting there.
So no, they are not fine. If you happen to read my post in the middle, Leve's possibly run out, quests dry out.
Guildheist you do once, hunting log is a good boost for a bit. I'd run dungeons more if I had the time, since I must wait 40 years as a DPS. [ACN for me] then I won't have the time. I rather have repeatable quest before work and such. People will say "Why do dungeons when I can get tons EXP in 5mins." Someone seriously said this in Shout in Levithan's chat. See? Too reliant on FATE's, no point for other methods because they are too low of EXP, it takes too long for some to que and it's the quickest way to level. Get level 50 in 2-3 days some guides say. Uhh, yea. I'm fine at 36 or 37 WHM but I'm going to worry when I have to re-do other classes and my only way is FATE's. Zerg running like Zombies with lag, slow loads I can barely get a hit in edgewise and more is not the way I wanna level but I'ma eventually have no choice.
I can take my time, sure, but I don't think I wanna wait months to get to 50. I just wanna good pace. Not super slow, fast, but like the pace I am with WHM.
Which took me a few weeks to get to 36.

I also dislike the massive importance given to FATEs. Every time I enter a zone the chat spam of "LF FATE Group" is almost as bad as the gold spam. Then you almost get stampeded by 20-30 players rushing from one end of the zone to the other. I'm pretty sure this is not what was intended.

An additional problem with FATEs is that when I do run across one and try to join in, there are so many folks of varying abilities and levels involved in the zerg that when I target something it's dead by the time the animation for my first hit goes thru. I end up running to the edge and hoping to find a yellow or orange FATE mob and get in a few shots.

They really do need to de-emphasize the importance of FATEs and increase the rewards elsewhere.
