Monks very weak. Need rebalance

I assume these complaints only apply to Coil and AK? I've done every single other fight many times (besides Primal Hard) and I have been the clear top dps EVERY single time, even when lower leveled or geared. The only exception is the 2nd boss of "The Praetorium" due to being constantly knocked around. Movement was never enough of an issue to make me lose top dps but maybe things will change due to AK, Coil, and unbalanced gear scaling.

I don't mind winning some fights but not others, god knows that ALL (at least non-game) contents are in our favor. Then again, I do understand the mentality that end-game is everything when it comes to MMOs. As long as top spot in high movement fights do not belong to a class like Bard; BLM I can live with but Bard? No.

Its seems easier to screw up as Monk; almost all Bards and BLMs I've partied with have similar relative damage but I've been with other Monks who do almost half my damage.

I've only been beaten by SMN (by A LOT). Parser is apparently bugged in favor of SMN but is it really that much? Are we sure SE just didn't screw up and SMN are just brokenly OP?

I mean what do you want? Everyone in the game to stop playing or inviting monks because you feel they are too weak? That's not going to happen. You don't have to invite monks or play monk. It's in your power to do so, but why spread your negative attitude to the other players because you lack in the performance department?

Because imbalances exist in games. Yes players tend to whine and cry about every little thing but it is a very real fact that imbalances exist. Players who are playing the OP classes baselessly whining about other players complaints on imbalance are just as annoying. If you're gonna complain about other's complaints, at least give reasons why you don't think the class needs rebalancing; then again, you probably don't even know the first thing about Monks.

This isn't constructive criticism. This is trolling. Being useful would be saying "Monks can't seem to perform as well as other jobs, a solution to this would be to have shoulder tackle give a GL stack and reduce the cooldown to 30 seconds and remove the stun, what are your suggestions to improving the class?" Instead the OP is "Monks suxxor don't play them or invite them they suck!" That's trolling. Personally I feel monks are fine. They are exactly where they need to be. They just require more effort than dragoon, bard or summoner which is perfectly fine with me. High skill limit high reward.

I ended up getting frustrated with my monk, or rather melee in general due to how they are just a flat out liability in some fights. I don't know if it was just my experience, but I did the chimaera fate out in northern thanalan I think it was and dodging the tail swipe (which is a really fast cast imo so you have to react really quickly...maybe I'm slow, but I like to think I'm not), the frontal fire cleave, the casted ice 360 degree aoe, the side ice attacks, etc just really got to me.

My bard can just sit there and dps, while also singing songs for the group. I love my monk, but what is the point? Does it get any better? because honestly, it really pissed me off haha. I like my bard, but I don't LOVE it, but I'm sick of getting frustrated with melee in this game.

Maybe I'm just bad at this game (a legit possibility haha) but I kind of wish they'd tone down on the melee only mechanics.

TL;DR. There are 100 of these unique butterfly DPS posts with everyone complaining about their class. Go gear up and do Binding Coil and (assuming you don't suck and you can actually do it) then report some actual data that matters. INC post about BC being too hard.

Except you don't need to do Coil to get a baseline average of your DPS. Assuming that you can actually trust parsers, the training dummies in Whitebrim will do that for you. Then pick a fight with minimal movement where you could get full effect of other peoples buffs and so forth(that is, an 8 person raid, ideally where you get +haste and other beneficial buffs), and you can really start to gauge where the classes are in dps compared to others. Hell, Titan might be a good fight to use - despite all the things going on, there is a lot of up time maintained on the boss.

you must have a group to carry you. for most of other monk, they are hard to find group even do a HM Garuda. Go play other class then u can realize the weakness of monk. Monk will be junk Job for pvp when the new content come out if they don't change anything.

And it's obvious that monk will suck in PVP, that's why you can switch class easily. But I think nobody plays this game for his future PVP ...

"Very nice". Lets make some @trash@ classes. Why not? You can switch classes easily.
