I would also like to toss in: I didn't mind that they posted the story on the Lodestone because it actually gave people the opportunity to read it at work, on the bus, etc.

Odds are that if it was in-game I probably would have just skimmed it and lost some of the comprehension, or God forbid missed the last part altogether because I would be distracted by other things, LOL.

fyi ffxi had a game newspaper to after a while no one read and they stoped doing it.

I used to read it periodically. I was quite disappointing when they took it down. =(

Seems like a good solution would be to put in both on Lodestone and on an in-game news publication.

they could actually do it in the loader, it already basically uses html, but i think it might be better with a further in game solution.
And really they should make the event actually occur, or at least you can see the effects in game. You can use the lodestone/newspaper type thing for adding further depth and history, but the ending to the event with the dodo, and etc should definiately have been an ingame occurence, and later as you walk somewhere it triggers the men in the shadows scene. Or at the very least you visit the reporter in game and get an echo of what they experienced

and then half of us would never get it by the time it was taken down because we wouldnt go to those locations because we wouldnt know about! BRILLIANT!
