This reminds me too much of my job. ;-; grrrrr stupid home delivery newspapers. >.<I think in a future patch they should introduce a 'news rack' or something in the adventurer's guild. You basically just walk up to it and can select an in-game version of the Raven or any other supposed "in game publication" that's currently being released.
They could spawn a NPC next to it for a couple of days to occasionally shout and announce a new copy has been released.
At least it would be read in-game then, I can't imagine it would be that hard to do really. You'd just need a new model for the newspaper rack (or whatever it is).
That'd be nice. If they could publish the news articles in-game it'd be great, but there's really not any good format for it in the game. They'd have to actually create it. Usually with every new addition to the game they just modify something they already have which is why you rarely see new minigames and if you do, they're still based off old principles already in the game's coding.I think in a future patch they should introduce a 'news rack' or something in the adventurer's guild. What I'm trying to get at is that publishing them in the game is going to be too much work for them. Their solution was to paste it up quickly and easily on the internet, where you can honestly make a much better newspaper much more easily.
So I'm torn between this being pretty lazy, and this actually being the most efficient and productive way...to do what they have tried to do. There's a role for lore and optional text and ...easter eggs no pun intended... but not when it takes the place of in-game story and are found in an out of the way internet web site for your game.
Ideally archons and that story would have been a part of the game, not a makebelieve figment sidestory on the internet. This is like...official fan fiction here.
Way too much official fan fiction going on in the game. We need r...uh...real fiction.

The first thing that came to mind after reading this was, "Why not add an NPC linkpearl to announce that a new issue has been released?" That way you don't have to miss the shouting in the cities.I think in a future patch they should introduce a 'news rack' or something in the adventurer's guild. They might even update the "Boot Version" of the game sometime in the future, to be able to display the lodestone news updates, patch notes, etc.

They honestly should have just linked it to the POL viewer even though it lived past it's purpose.
Because it's an event, not a storyline.
fyi ffxi had a game newspaper to after a while no one read and they stoped doing it.
