Is anyone annoyed by the HUGE number of people using bots on this game?

Well of course from a morality prospective you are correct, but its for SE to provide a system that is entertaining, not boring and rewards us with a feeling of progression and accomplishment.

Which is far from what we have, the first mistake they made was trying to make gathering and crafting actual classes.

Before long as they add more and more NM's, class specific gear, untradeble items and whatnot, crafters are going to find it harder and harder to compete, they should have just left it as side content similar to how FF11 and every other game out there does it (including wow)

With this super-complex recipe and tons of recipe to do, i think IF you really need to sell something, you can do it, just find what is sold out and try to sell that item.

You idea root back to the armory system, that people will buy ONLY highest rank gear for each class and nothing else. So why you just sick of that you can't rule the market..

How about the people that spend time 18 hours a day crafting without botting and he/she reach higher lv than you and this guy dominate the market and you cry that they outsell the no-time player? Still fair?

Make these DoH/DoL class to the hobby one, focus on fighting class, make crafting simpler and more fun, limit max DoH/DoL you can level up for 1 charactor ( like 11 )

The problem with crafting is the fact that they turned it into a full on job instead of a side thing how it was in XI. In a sense they went above and beyond though... Cause I am so physically exhausted of pressing enter.

Lol pressing enter must be strainful to your body.....
For overall topic of this thread. I really don't notice a huge ammount of bots nor do I care if there are any. They do not affect me accept the bots that farm sheepskin... kind of annoying.... but I do agree with all the arguments being made about them. But if they do get banned can't they just make another account to repeat the process?

Botting's wrong, and I certainly don't approve of it. At the same time, we have to look at why it's so widespread. It's a problem in every game, but this game in particular makes crafting take such a huge amount of time for even basic parts. Heck, I was working through my fire shards yesterday and it still took an hour just to work through half of the ores I had, even with the "death or glory" hasty hands ability to speed things up. In most any other game (except FFXI) I would have been able to do that in 5-10 minutes max, but this one has the crafting take waay too much time. I don't think this is a problem that can be solved while trying to give the crafting and battle systems equal attention. There's a good reason why those features are relegated to the side in most other games

The crafting is fun for a while, but like many people I'm tired of doing a long, luck based minigame every time just to smelt some basic ore to get step one of a 20 part process for a single piece of gear. I'm not sure I agree with limiting everyone to one profession, but I do think they should give up the ghost of DoL/H being equal with the combat classes. There's not enough depth in the actual crafting process to justify it, but the material system is too bloated and complicated to make it doable for most people without an outside guide. After they do that, then they should focus on getting the bots under control, since the other way around will likely cause supply problems.

i had some people in my LS a few weeks back who got hella mad, and defensive when i found out about the faction leve exploit(the one they fixed)
the people who are always neutral or defensive of things are usualy the ones who are doing it and dont want to lose how its done

botting happens, but its illegal, PERIOD, there no excuse for it, there is no reasoning, if you bot, you should be banned.
Same with every other exploit being abused on purpose

reminds me of a discussion i had with a former ls member, she was bitching about us thinking that the "old" punishing barbs were not just a bit but completely overpowered and they shoudl change it since its almost like an exploit and makes everything even more easy and pointless. She really got mad about it...
im happy that got taken care of pretty fast (surprisingly fast).

Well I should make it pretty clear that the bot sympathizers in this thread aren't ACTUALLY fooling anyone.
They just think they are.
