Stats for Gear are very Boring

So you like boring, vanilla stats that go in the order of +1 +2 +3 +4 etc. Noted.

Some us would like to rack our brains on which build is better than which because it adds depth to the game and contributes to a richer gaming experience. Being able to play with gimmicky builds that are unique and fun while still being functionally relevant is part of what keeps asses in seats. When everyone is the same, it's boring.

your fun and unique gimmicky build would last all of 2 minutes before a theorycrafter convinced the community to never let you in a Raid because your setup was sub optimal.

No? The theorycrafters are the one that figure out what set up is optimal, right now you don't need to theorycraft, you literally look "oh, this things ilvl is 5 levels higher, UPGRADE!". THAT's boring, also, you've never played FFXI or a game with good itemization.

And by finding the 'Optimal' build, all else becomes 'Sub-Optimal', and progression focused FC's will eliminate anyone who tries to use something else, even if the difference is only 5~ DPS.

Yes, You are wholly correct that i never played XI. Now, tell me 10 different stats from XI, And then tell me how each of those stats were different from the next without having similar ones, were equally weighted and balanced so no matter which ones you geared for, the DPS was the same. And then tell me how that was a meaningful choice.
