Bahamut Lair gear equal to Mythology gear?

Since the crystal tower (i think that's it) is supposed to be before the myth gear and bahamut gear, doesn't it make the gear from there obsolete before it even comes out?

Thats a fantastic point. I didn't think about that. When they launch Crystal tower, will that gear already be below what you get from mythology AK runs? To Ladon's point above, I think itemization is completely broken but I can understand SE doing this if it meant getting the game out sooner. I hope SE can shed light on their plans to fix itemization in the future.
