IMO, Titan HM is the most poorly planned progression point in the game right now

first and foremost they need to fix the issue of telegraphed attacks. We can't even truly tell how hard this fight actually is until that is done. I have played and raided in virtually every other MMO released in the past 13 years and this is hardly a new mechanic. I have never had any issue getting out of ground effects regardless of whatever my latency was to whatever game I was playing. Here I am moving as soon as the circles appear for me and out of them for a full second or more in many cases and still getting hit. I suspect that Titan may actually be a very easy fight for many if they can just resolve this issue.

It actually is a very easy fight, just that latency makes it painful, sure learning the pattern helps but only for so long, due to cast times or people getting too close to each other or maybe a rapid change of direction made u hesitate for .1 sec causing you to die.

I feel like Titan weapons were originally intended to be a higher item level, but then things were adjusted.

The reason I say this is because the Relic weapon, in beta, was item level 95. I remember very distinctly because I was super confused by it saying "Lv. 95" in my WHM equip log. Then it got downgraded to item level 80, presumably to 'make room' for the +1 version that may or may not have been 'rushed'.

Garuda: 70
Titan: 70 (Maybe it was meant to be 80. Originally. Before the relic iLevel got downgraded to make room for the relic+1.)

Now it seems silly and weird. I personally think the Titan weapons are super ugly. Perhaps if they add in some sort of aesthetic feature, people will actually want these weapons.

Titan is a good difficulty, I haven't beaten him yet, but I know what it takes and I've only tried about 4-5 times. It is a DPS check plain and simple. This is an RPG, you need to go get gear from AK runs and some darklight before you can fight Titan. It is that simple. I see countless people of all DPS, Tanks and Healers walk into Titan fight with Lv49 NQ rings with no Materia Melded, Lv34 Bracelets and Normal AF gear, etc, etc. You need to get equipment to be able to do enough damage, and be on the ball with heals and avoiding attacks.

The Short Version is that you need to figure things out. That's the point of a video game...

More than a DPS check, Titan feels more of a "are you able to look at your surroundings" check. I've been trying to PUG it since I can't find a shell or FC. And a lot of people in full DL can't seem to stay alive before the heart phase.

Pretty much sums it up, but the drop has value if you do it with friends/free company, let the drop go to someone who is gearing that class next for the relic that way you can have more dps for hydra/garuda/titan.

This comment absolutely addresses point 1.

On point 2, the DF setup does feel a bit off, OT is a waste of a slot. As our gear progresses it will probably be more doable with DF.

My ping from the UK is 85ms, I do not have a problem dodging attacks. Remember it's the cast bar, not the animation. If the cast bar is at 80% and you haven't moved it's already too late. I can see over 150ms being a problem on faster attacks.

For some reason, this fight seems laggier or simply more congested than any other instanced battle. Perhaps because so many AoEs and 'location checks' are going on at once. At some points in the day, I can easily dodge things. At other points, I die to even the super-long-cast-timer "Landslide." It will look like I'm so far out of it and I still get hit. Super frustrating and very bizarre. I can't possibly believe it's my ISP as I live 8 hours away from Montreal. My ping is 'supposed' to be around 20 ms. It's also not my hardware as I make sure my framerate is never below 30 (I run on recommended settings). I feel like part of the issues people are having with this fight is due to the instability of the instanced battles. The Duty Finder still has weird hiccups every once in a while, especially during primetime. And then there's the fact that the 'mapping' of your location is very delayed and only updates every .3 seconds. It's a known issue that SE has acknowledged.

Because of these reasons, I don't think you'll be able to do it with a DF group. It's probably best to make your own group. There will likely be a lot of wipes and "BUT I WAS OUT OF THAT~" raging going on, so it's best not to waste your time teaching people you'll never see again...

My boyfriend was in a Titan hardmode group for over six hours last night. They never downed it, but got it close several times. He was the tank... never died unless they wiped. Someone always died in the fight, sometimes even pre-heart phase. I'm not near their computer so I don't know if it's them being bad or just the functionality issues... but, how bad can you be to constantly mess up after six hours of practicing?

Titan is a ilvl 80 fight, so you should have mostly ilvl 70 gear when you fight him,

Titan is same ilvl fight as Garuda. They both drop item level 70 weapons. It is not an item level 80 fight.

Ifrit, Garuda, Titan (hard) are for all players & to get Relics so should be balanced for No Relic, with level 55 gear (AF gear) probably a Grand company Lvl 55 Weapon. If this is a properly balanced game. & thats taking into account where all the quests sit in this game.
I could also understand making Titan level 60 AK gear. but then you mess up the balance with the weapon.

*Ifrit & Garuda are easy enough with AF & GC weapon if your very experianced, Quite hard if your not.
*Titan Laggs to damm much so its un-doable with that gear so far ~ But from what i've seen, The gear level for it defintly seems wrong. It needs the LAgg fixed & possibly a NERF (If you have a probliem with a nerf go do Extreme when it comes out, unless its to hard for you!)

Ifrit, Garuda, Titan (Extreme) - THAT should be a level 70~90 gear + Primal or Relic weapon fight. Once again If this is a properly balanced game taking into account where everything sits quest wise (or should sit in this case E.g. End Gamer only content. Also like to point out This & only This would give anyone the right to ask a Noob or inexperianced person to leave! Like whats currently happening in hard mode!)

At the end of the day its new content, its unbalanced & so far the biggest issue myself & other have found with Titan isnt the gear or weapon but after the fight starts in most primal battles it LAGGS out Hard.
