This is exactly right. If I don't feel like watching cutscenes and am, for example, farming Castrum for tomestones... I'll form my own premade group OR I'll sit down, shut up, and let people watch the cutscenes if I'm in a Duty Finder group. The storyline is the best part of any Final Fantasy and I am not going to take that away from other people just because I'm too impatient to wait around for a few extra minutes. Just because someone is a stranger to me doesn't mean I have any right to be a jerk to them.

We're playing an MMO, people. Playing a videogame is already a waste of time. You can wait a few minutes for other people to enjoy it.

IMO Everyone are just missing the real issue.

It's a bad design. To make 9999 of CS in a raid of an online game - Is a bad design.

SE should have planned it differently, they are the ones to blame lol

Please show me another online game with 8 people raid with more than like Opening CS, Ending CS and maybe additional boss CS.

A simple solution - make a story mode of the dungeon that is 4 players or even solo?

But making an endgame tomb run dungeon involved in story is lawl. The players who want to watch it the first time get hurt by this design. The players who want to watch it EVERYTIME get hurt by this design. The players who don't watch to watch it at all get hurt by this design. We are FORCED to stop mid-battle and be interrupted because of those CS's... It was just designed in a silly way. The CS involve text, some reading slow, and some fast, people who finish it faster are hopped into battle while the ones reading slower can't help them - Yeah good design there SE.

Issues like these should not be in an online game in the first place, and it's no wonder players are fighting over it.

This is coming from someone who did skip the cutscenes myself, but when five or six other people ask you politely to skip the cutscene, you should skip it. If you're the one or two members who want to watch, you're holding up everyone else and being even less courteous.

Just adding on here, you can view any cutscene of quests you completed in the inn.

Only ran into one jerk using DF So far . Don't dictate things to people. Unless your paying for there game or they knew the rules for joining the group. Everyone has a right to watch the cutscene or not ,even if asked nicely.

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Duty Finder... until yesterday, when I ran into my first jerk in Dzemael Darkhold. We had a Dragoon who was completely new to the dungeon, and did perfectly well for the entire run up until the end, when she didn't use Limit Break exactly when the tank demanded her to do so. As a result, the tank decided to AFK on us. The run was going well up until this moment.

I did some snooping and found out his server and his Free Company, and after removing his anonymity he cased his laugh spamming and left rather quickly. I'm really hoping that this doesn't become more common, because it's going to get tiresome quickly if it does.

Any MMO with a cross server LFG system has this issue, and I do mean any MMO. Vote-Kick systems work to marginally fix the case, but then you begin running into issues with people kicking others just for shits and giggles. Another solution to the problem is for SE to implement the cross server Black List so you can block people like this and the DF will not group you with those people again. However, people like this are similar to weeds in that they just keep coming back. Anonymity with a keyboard is a nasty beast.

Some issues would even be fixable by letting players self-identify for the DF and check boxes for "Hardcore," "Standard," or "Casual."

If you're a hardcore player and want to play with like-minded individuals who skip all CS and try to speedrun, you only check HC. New/Relaxed people who watch every CS and are still learning the dungeon choose Casual. If you don't care who you group with, you can check all three.

Of course there will be noobs that think they're hardcore, and the "Standard" option would still be a gamble, but any kind of differentiation of skill/playstyle is a step above the big melting pot we have now.
