I've had nothing but good experiences with the Duty Finder... until yesterday, when I ran into my first jerk in Dzemael Darkhold. We had a Dragoon who was completely new to the dungeon, and did perfectly well for the entire run up until the end, when she didn't use Limit Break exactly when the tank demanded her to do so. As a result, the tank decided to AFK on us. The run was going well up until this moment.

I did some snooping and found out his server and his Free Company, and after removing his anonymity he cased his laugh spamming and left rather quickly. I'm really hoping that this doesn't become more common, because it's going to get tiresome quickly if it does.

Any MMO with a cross server LFG system has this issue, and I do mean any MMO. Vote-Kick systems work to marginally fix the case, but then you begin running into issues with people kicking others just for shits and giggles. Another solution to the problem is for SE to implement the cross server Black List so you can block people like this and the DF will not group you with those people again. However, people like this are similar to weeds in that they just keep coming back. Anonymity with a keyboard is a nasty beast.

Some issues would even be fixable by letting players self-identify for the DF and check boxes for "Hardcore," "Standard," or "Casual."

If you're a hardcore player and want to play with like-minded individuals who skip all CS and try to speedrun, you only check HC. New/Relaxed people who watch every CS and are still learning the dungeon choose Casual. If you don't care who you group with, you can check all three.

Of course there will be noobs that think they're hardcore, and the "Standard" option would still be a gamble, but any kind of differentiation of skill/playstyle is a step above the big melting pot we have now.

That may help but it may also cripple the Real Hardcore players because all the Rushers who constantly wine, insult, and complain at people for making a single mistake, watch cutscenes, and etc. will pick Hardcore because they think they're top dogs of the game themselves when, despite having the good gears, their skill at playing the game is the level of a Casual because they leeched off of other players with better gear and skill than they have to Rush through endgame.

Gear will never determine a person's skill but that doesn't compute with Rushers

    Seconded. Fantastic idea!
Much rather play with people who don't take the game and themselves too seriously. Casual check box please!

The more people an MMO gets the more problems there are. Didn't run into this much in 1.0 because there weren't that many people. All that aside, i do not see how that one experience you had was something to expect on a regular basis. I am sure for the most part you have ran dungeons without issues.

ff11 was known for its whiny elitist hardcore but ff14s whiny childish elite scrubs in the duty finder are on another level. the amount of idiots ive run across on the duty finder is mind numbing.

If the tank off tank wasn't interrupting your chances of killing this boss were slim anyway. I say the rage was called for.

SE should just remove the possibility of skipping cutscenes everytime there is a new player in the dungeon. Problem solved.
