The only time I think it's reasonable to expect heals in a Fate is when it a single boss type and you are tanking. And not dedicated healing, only now and then.
This is pretty much my thinking. Generally the cluster-style FATES don't require much healing, but I will toss one out on occasion if need be.
But even so, I was in a full FATE party up at Camp Dragonhead the other day. We were doing a single boss FATE , and one of the DD got a whopping 10K more points than me. I was hustling like any good WHM, mostly healing and casting stones or DOTs when I could. That's a massive difference and I can assure you there was no less effort on my part.
He might have had rested bonus, and/or the class he was playing was lower level than his highest level class giving him a 50% bonus.This is pretty much my thinking. Generally the cluster-style FATES don't require much healing, but I will toss one out on occasion if need be.
