Now that I think about it, there's a few parts in the story I felt could've been better. I still did enjoy it, but I agree with what you're saying. In fact these quests I find, and now looking back, had made pivotal parts of the story quite jarring and out of the blue. Combine these parts with poor build up and the delivery just makes these parts feel out of place, so much to say "wait, did that just happen?". This is great for affect, but I feel it doesn't quite work right when you go back to doing the same thing after the story dramatically shifts. Climactic parts should be felt in the buildup to the next, not completely thrown out of the window.

Case in point: CCH. That was more a filler than an episode of Naruto.
