Oh boy, if you're impressed with ARR then you should really go and review the cutscenes from 1.0. In my opinion the writers who came up with much of the story content, especially crafting stories, for 1.0 did an amazing job. Unfortunately not a lot of people got around to seeing much of it. I'm sure it goes without saying that I'm not the only one concerned that a lot of these stories are left without closure in ARR.

The storyline is amazing, the music is amazing and I like the graphics too. However how long can one stare at a masterpiece before being bored?

I was a little disappointed in the quality of the 2.0 cutscenes.. They made Gaius look so strong in 1.0, but his end was rather anti-climatic in 2.0.

i mean wow, this game absolutely rocks. the cutscenes literally mop the floor with the cutscenes of any other mmo to date.

TSW has way better voice acting, but yes FFXIV has more dramatic scenes.

I think the thread's title is incredibly hyperbolic, but I'd still say it's a damn good game. Thought I couldn't stick with an MMO apart from FFXI but I think I'll be proved wrong here.
The storyline's... okay for an MMO (compared to say Aht Urghan or Chains of Promathia, which were great for an MMO). I switched to JP voice acting and it's quite good... when it actually happens.
I really like the art style in this game, both visually and audibly. It sets itself from other recent fantasy MMOs, and feels more "FF-ish."

With the recent advent of negativity (on the forums), i feel the need to update this thread.

FFXIV gives me that adventurous feel i missed in other mmos. It also has a great sense of community and the rudest thing i've seen by far was the gold spam.
People do not spam chat with mindless trolling brubbel, they enjoy the game and help eachother, or casually chat.

I also believe that the negativity on the forums will drastically lessen after the "free" month is over, and good riddance to them i say.

If the rudest thing you've seen is the gold spam...I wanna switch worlds. Lvl 50 stuff is a hell hole.
