In that case it's entirely possible that something in your PC is conflicting with the game itself. Try using a HDD (If possible of course) I know a couple of people who had some problems with the game and their SSD's.I have been having this issue since Phase 4 myself, though after early access and launch it got tremendously worse. My specs are:
980x Extreme CPU (6 core - 4.0 GHz)
Radeon 7990 + 7970 in tri-crossfire
24gb Ram
Win 7 64bit on SSD and game on seporate SSD
I have tried:
Reinstalling Game
Reinstalling OS and installing everything from scratch
Trying different Drivers
Changing in game settings
Testing with crossfire on / off
Testing different view modes (fullscreen / windowed)
A bunch of other stuff.

I have tried it on a regular HDD as well. I had it on that originally, and then during one of the reinstalls I decided I might as well put it on the SSD.

Hmm, strange. Have you run dxdiag just to check that everything is working correctly?
You might want to download and run some stress tests, for at least 30 minutes. If that causes a crash then something is definitely wrong with your hardware - other than that I can't help you. Sorry =(

Yup all the hardware is fine. I built the computer myself, liquid cooled, stress tested. Yeah... I have come to the conclusion that it has to be something on their end. Doesn't make me feel any better though. Still hoping that someone might try something I haven't and that will solve it. But yeah, since SE won't respong to tickets it's all I can do. Thanks for the help!Hmm, strange. Have you run dxdiag just to check that everything is working correctly?

Hi I have the same issue as these people, and its only with FF14. I ran stress tests and dxdiag and everything was fine. I'm just trying to figure out whether this is a driver issue or SE's problem. I can run the game fine on my less powerful laptop but run into this issue on my PC.What is your power supply Braxy? If it's insufficient you can get the screen going black every now and again with that error message you got. Especially when it's under load. You might want to run dxdiag and see if anything comes up.
EDIT: Has this happened on other games Braxy, or is it only occurring when you attempt to run FF14?
So I ran a check disk, which btw found nothing, and now I dont crash. However my problem now is that it says of have incorrect version when i get to the start screen.
I have re-installed the game, re-installed all drivers, ensured that hardware is working correctly (plus, it's a brand new laptop), and the power supply is sufficient.
It only happens on FFXIV.
The only thing left to do is reformat but I'm trying to avoid that :/

I've had a thread going about this for a while now. In the same boat as you.
