LOL You do realize that it's going to take you 3 months for the level 90 tier gear... right?
My WAR to be fully geared in AF2 Nov 18......

See, the AF2 gear isnt the only option at that point. Im absolutely fine with the Mythology tokens being a means of supplementing raid gear. Same in WoW with Valor points. Except Valor isnt a huge pain in the ass to get, and you dont actually need it, as getting in to the end game content isnt a huge hurdle. Its the endgame itself is the hurdle (fairly low set hurdle, but fun).
The grind for Darklight is boring. And theres not another option. The crafted ilevel 70 gear is crap in comparison.
This is hilariously innacurate.
Basically on par even without materia, better with.
Now, that doesn't change the fact that getting the 1125 tokens needed to craft a piece is more work than getting darklight, but saying i70 crafted is crap is just wrong.

you dont need to run AK for tier 1 tomes...run castrum with an 8 man, takes about 25min and is utter faceroll you dont even need to kill half the mobs, you use the cannons to kill them all after the second boss.

maybe if you have a group of people who have all done it before and no one watching cutscenes, otherwise it turns into a whinefest of people grinding tomes telling people who are enjoying the story to watch it in the inn.
p.s. this still doesnt do anything to the minimum 8 hour grind to cap mythology every week

crafted ilvl70 gear w/ melds is far superior to darklight..

im gonna have to agree, the amount of time invested to get a single piece of darklight is pretty ridiculous
Boo Hoo... they fixed something that was being exploited and now people are crying. If you don't like the way the game is setup then don't play. FFXIV is a game that is to be enjoyed over a period of time, not something you beat in 30 days and call it quits. (However after reading these forums lately I hope alot of the people here go play elsewhere). All you people need to go to some F2P game where you just buy the best gear and then sit in town and chat and admire yourselves. Some of us actually like working for our gear. Its not very special if its easy to get and done so via an exploit.
if it was an exploit that needed fixing, then why do all the people who exploited get to keep their benefit?Boo Hoo... they fixed something that was being exploited and now people are crying. If you knew anything about rollbacks then you would understand its not easy to rollback specific characters who may have exploited the speed runs and even if they could do so, how would they easily tell who worked for it all day everyday versus the exploiters? This also takes away manpower at SE from focusing on further issues in the game or developing the patches. Perhaps some of you recall the problem in TERA with the exploiters abusing white alkahest to enchant their weps instead of the more expansive powders and in the end they couldnt roll us all back, nor the abusers. They fixed the exploit but the dmg was done.
The only other option would be a server wide rollback which would cause the rest of us who havnt even hit 50 yet to suffer more so than those who can play all day because we have work to contend with most days of the week.
The way i see it is: it will come to a point like it does in all mmo's ive played thus far that the ones who speed ahead will be caught up by the rest of us who play less but just as skillfully in terms of content completion. They may lord it over others now but that never lasts. They will have nothing more than bragging rights saying "i beat this before you, therefore im awesome and you need to make a temple in my honour!"
