New Character Creation

Are you guys going to keep Cactaur down all week? I have friends that want to join me here, maybe you should get rid of the gil sellers and bots I have been seeing and reporting so you can free up some space for others. Not saying that is entirely the issue. Just fix it please. :C

Moogle(EU), Ultros(NA), Behemoth(NA), Cactuar(NA), Excalibur(NA Legacy), and Hyperion(NA Legacy) have all been perma-locked.

Please unlock these severs for character creation after the maintenance today or give us an update on their future character creation status. A lot of people have been delayed from playing with their friends/family members due to the ongoing restrictions on these particular worlds.

It's been more than a week since the last maintenance and Ultros hasn't been open for characters at all! I have friends who bought the game and have been waiting to play. They were hoping that Ultros would be unlocked for character creation soon after the last maintenance but it never happened and they have wasted a good chunk of their free trial time!

My friend bought this game a week ago with the hopes of joining myself and other friends on Hyperion server, and has been unable to do so.

He tried to make a post in this thread to express his frustrations, but SE does not allow you to make forum posts unless you have an active character. This means that there are many, MANY more new players who are frustrated with trying to join their friends than this thread can possibly reflect, since SE has effectively silenced these new players from voicing their concerns.

I got sick of waiting a couple days ago and just made a character on Leviathan. The Mog service promises a character transfer feature in mid-September. I expect some kind of free transfer when the servers are more stable... if it isn't free or on a special sale I'll be angry - but I was so sick of waiting to play I'm honestly ready to pay a small fee just to transfer so that I can play now. I'm already wasting game time by waiting.

I've been told that Guild Wars 2 offered free transfers after their launch hype, hopefully Square Enix will be just as forgiving.

Have been playing MMO's for years with a tight nit group of friends. I was on vacation when servers went live and for some god awful reason SE has made the decision to lock out servers. The whole squad started on Cactuar and I, the intended tank, have been left out in the cold.

Out of boredom I have started an off server toon while waiting but each level I grow more disgust toward a game I have loved and played since NES was the top dog. In order to maintain group cohesion we may all be shortly leaving this game for good in search of a different game where everyone is allowed to play on the same server.

I surely am not alone as I have seen countless other posters relaying similar stories. Sad to see SE shoot themselves in the foot so soon on what appeared to be a decent remake of their last flop.

This waiting on getting into my friend's server is killing me. I'm also going to buy a copy for my girlfriend to play along with us, but I'm cautious of her and I starting before the servers allow new characters again because I have no idea if server transfers will be free, or even really affordable, or if they're actually going to be offered in "mid-September" for the server I want to transfer to, since it's been consistently full.

Please, please don't leave us in the dark; tell us when we're going to be able to create on any server again, and what it's going to cost those who don't have the patience to wait weeks and have already started on other servers, hoping for transfers. And the least you can do to ensure this launch keeps up the great momentum it's had is to make the first transfer free.

An opening for Moogle would be most welcome, have friends trying since the first time restrictions were applied and none of them could yet creat a character to play with me.

I am still waiting on Cactuar to open as I have friends waiting who are rather frustrated because it is almost the only server to not have allowed new characters, I feel for them I just hope that they open the server soon

Three weeks, 8 friends, 5 of whom were Legacy or early purchase, 2 being husband and wife, still not on the same server, still no date on the elusive server transfer promised for mid-September (*does hard Maths and figures 15 is half of 30*). Maybe it's NEXT September! I have a wagon load of stuff/jobs on my main from Legacy and I'm aware that in 3 weeks of playing these friends all have invested significant time, so they won't want to wipe and recreate, so we're hanging waiting on a promise which has not even been given a date, and even then, won't give us any certainty. Then there's the 719+ page thread by people who have code allocation issues, so I don't for one moment want to suggest we're the only players who have issues.

I like FF. I don't like the fact that years of FF1 and then FF14 1.0 plus ARR has made me feel neurotic about the high degree of difficulty involved in playing with friends and family, for which I pay, monthly. I don't like that I'm asking my friends to get up at weird hours to check character creation restrictions, when they have jobs and study comittments. I play GW2, for which I don't pay. I can guest as many times to any 2 worlds in 48hrs, and play with friends. I can transfer worlds, once a week if I feel nomadic, for a small fee, if guesting doesn't quite fill the bill. And yes, GW2, like most MMOs had some lobby server issues at startup, but they addressed those very smartly. Three weeks isn't smartly, but I was very smartly emailed today by SE about the commencement of billing.

It bothers me that I'm paying to be frustrated. I like the game, I like my friends, but a game is supposed to be for enjoyment, relaxation, and there are a lot of people who are getting neither, but being asked shortly to start paying, and for whom the only thing that commenced early was frustration. Paying and staying indefinitely, with no sign of world transfer or promise of success, and the increasing likelihood that to play with even one friend means dumping my main (which I've been told for a year I could keep), is stupid, being stressed about which friendships get sacrificed is stupid. None of us can spend our day playing 3 MMOs to keep in contact, the reality is our lives.

SE's current silence about world transfer and the realisation of an MMO experience you can enjoy with your friends is a big black hole. I see plenty in the forums from devs about fixing other issues, but I don't want to be able to ring a retainer bell in a dozen more places, I'd just like to be ringing it, like all the previous posters would, in the same place as my friends.

Please give us something concrete regarding server transfer, SE, because with every passing day, the only reality is that some of us will stop playing completely, some of us will have to start new characters and lose progress (if character creation opens up), and some of us who played FF together for many years will simply never do so again.

Heard rumors that the last patch which force booted all of the thousands of players, who never log out, to actually log out. Set my alarm clock and crossed my fingers. Logged in just before servers were supposed to go live again and to my delight green light for creation on all servers.

This is a two-fold post...
Point one: All you posters who wanted to join up, do it now! No telling how long the gap will be.

Point two: SE get your head out of your arses and implement a boot feature for inactive players. Not only will this decrease player loads on your servers for all those selfish players who are burning up your capital resources while they are sleeping/working/or whatever else it is that they do, but will help to correct the single most complained about problem in your current meta-game. Unless of course you believe that people never step away from the game to live their lives.

I was able to get around the creation bans and I hope a few of u did too.
