You are either lying or don't have many friends. My money all went to Castrum Meridium runs, which net you a 1.5k repair bill every single run, and that's if it goes smoothly. The chests within don't even give bronze pieces to vendor towards the cost of repairs.
Add in Primal fights and other endgame activities, and you are bled dry in a couple days. This is not an isolated I-spent-all-my-money situation, as is clear from the amount of posts on the topic on this very forum. All besides the crafters and those still questing are getting low on money in my sizable FC.

They should just add daily quests that give an appropriate amount of gil for these lvl 50's who can't sustain themselves.

Wouldn't reducing teleporting costs have been useful as well, surely an obvious item I would have thought to reduce costs.

Not to mention, there are definitely items that you get in dungeons that can be sold for a lot of gil. I had to spend 20k for one pinprick pebble on several occasions. I'm sure these items don't just rain on any one person, but the items are out there if you knew what to do with them.

why are all these ppl complaining about money... you are in an mmo driven by an economy - if you think you could play this game without even needing to worry about money you have not been paying attention, or this is not the game for you. this is also a good reminder to those who zerged their way to 50 and paid no attention to other nuances of the game that they are doing something wrong.

Though this argument has been done to death, i get what people mean, and why what your saying basically isnt exactly going to be the perfect solution (lowering repair costs). Gil gets drained from the game from just about everything (selling on markets, repairs, teleports, buying off NPCs..ect) how much money is brought in is lower than that which is typically brought back in. I can be loaded out my bum from selling and crafting, but that doesnt bring a red cent into the game, it just takes someone elses gil and brings it to me, while the market takes a cut.

People are not worried about blowing gil on some high end item (that happens all the time no matter what) people are worried that over time the gil amount that exists in the game in total will slowly drop to a smaller and smaller amount. Does it make your gil worth more? yep, but not to an NPC that removes all that gil and has a static price attached to it.

Roric isn't saying the game isn't fun. Just that most of the items in game are pretty worthless themselves. I've seen this argument a lot and what people don't seem to understand is while gil generation is an issue.

Let's assume for a moment that we battle classes manage to break even after today. So what are we buying from you? Our relic base and some Materia which is easily funded by the story money. After that we get AF and start farming darklight, your gears are way worse than anything we get for free and minimal effort at that, we can't use materia on our gear. We also get items you need in the form of materials we can indeed make market money with. If you can't sell us gear, items we need, or materia, what do you sell to us after the relic base? Everything you have holds little to no value for us =/. We battle classes are just a big hole in the economy, we currently as of this moment generate no gil, but we certainly require a lot of your gil to break even. So if you take a pure battle class at 50. It goes like this.

Gatherer Sells to Crafter, or Crafts themselves, Crafter then sells to fresh story player or other crafters, Crafter buys Materials from endgame 50's, Endgame 50's then send the gil to the void with repairs. And it just continues like that. There has to be some incentive to give a Crafter money after you start getting tomes. Otherwise. Yes we will drain gil from servers without even trying .

It get's even worse if you have a fully self sustainable 50 with gathering, crafting , and battle. They provide for themselves and just play the market, they make gil from it, but have no real reason to invest into it since they can do it all themselves.

Most everything in the game is inexpensive. People seem to think that this means money is worthless, so they spend it frivolously and then demand more.

People rushed without building up reserves of wealth or a means to obtain more.

People probably spent money where it is easy and enjoyable not to do so, teles instead of chocoboports and gear npc's instead of lower level dungeon runs.

However, these peoples complaints have still been heard and there are changes in the works.

This game is enjoyable, intuitive and accessible. However, none of that will be enough for the person who wants everything now.

Wrote a long ass post. Not sure if I want to post it yet. But I just want to say, anyone using pronouns in a discussion of macroeconomics is doing it wrong. If you don't understand what I said, or why this is, what you're about to post probably has no relevance to the actual discussion. Either way though, since SE is addressing this, it kind of proves that the deflation concerns were warranted.
