Being a tank in thos game sucks. All dungeons requires tanks to do the most work. And being a tank, gives you the worst repair bill. The gil in this game is pretty hard to earn if youre not into crafting. And each repair for tank is like 2k-3k per run

(sorry if this is incoherent rambling, I'm hammered drunk)

My Marauder, who i set up on the American Servers is doing OK, So far I like the class. I feel like I've been given enough to keep me going.
With my main character Binny (a Thaumaturge), I;m used to dealing better damage. but with my Maurader I'll take what I'm given, at least if two enemies are attacking me at once it;s not the end of the world.

my only critisism, and stop me if this is something a gladiator can do, is I wish I had a skill that instantly transferred aggro: I wish I had a skill that very definitely said "Ill handle this if you take my back"

for me tanks and healers are role that should be taken by the most mature players. anyone can spam attacks, but it takes someone with brain power to tank and heal.

Tanking is fun . I like chasing Mobs when squishy DPS made them pissed off. They are like " GET THE RAT AWAY FROM ME... ARRRRR."
Anyway. Maybe they give us tank a mount like WHM?

Im gonna have to agree with this thread, im leveling a PLD to 50 but after hearing how everyone just does one dungeon and they expect you the tank to know how to speed run it by geting naked and running through the whole dungeon is just really puting me off, i thought i would get to tank lots of diffrent dungeons and have epic fun, i was having tons of fun tanking all the way up to 50, but if all that endgame is is stun duty and speeed running one instance then i think ill pass and join the 2 hour DPS queue with everyone else

This in spades; along with threat gain from party; Without enough mitigation (read: Legitimate defensive cooldowns, having Parry rating factor into a statistic that's actually useful for those of us with Parry {insert block where appropriate} etc.) healers rip hate away from tanks who are just barely able to hang on, even by spamming Flash (there goes that MP for us Warriors), Provoke (on a 40 second cooldown with no real dent in threat once a fight has been going on for more than about 10 seconds), and Tomahawk/Shield Lob, and then die.

I don't know if threat gain from DPS and Healing is a problem, or actual mitigation is an issue, but the answer is somewhere in there. And it needs to get fixed.

You're looking for Gladiator 22's Provoke, which apparently is "snap aggro" (Puts you at the top of the hate list), so use it when people steal hate.

    Or so I've been told.

That is really great to hear, from the look of the icon it look amazing set of armor. I can't wait to deck out in the full set, make playing a Paladin all better again as I have a Goal and something great to look forward to.

    Player-related problem.

If healers are ripping threat from you, it's because they are having to heal too much - use your LEGITIMATE tanking cooldowns to take less damage, or use some cc from blms.

Provoke puts you on top of the threat list, meaning that the fight HAS to have been going for a while for it to be worthwhile. The only time when taunt is not useful is at the start of a fight, when "on top of the threatlist" means about +2 threat.

Here are your legitimate cooldowns that you should be useing clearly more often than you are:
    Rampart
    Sentinel
    Flash blind
    Shield Bash
Shield Block (seriously under-rated if you have a tower type shield rather than buckler).
    Convalescence
    Hallowed Ground
    Awareness

    And from Marauder:
    Foresight
Bloodbath (ok so this one sucks)
    Mercy Stroke

That "snap aggro" is only a slight boost in hate directed at the target. Provoke is great before 50, at 50 it's better then using Shield Lob or Tomahawk, only because of distance, otherwise it's not very good. I'd sooner spam damage abilities with additional effect: Increases Enmity, then use provoke which has a 40 second cooldown to save a healer mid fight x.x

Hmm I think armor degrades just by casting skills in it, not just getting hit. And if you're doing the most work as a tank, your party needs some learning. I find tanking to be fairly lazy when you have a group that knows what to do, even if you fudge up a bit. Take Tonberry King for example, easy, fast strat is to just tank and spank, while dps classes run around frantically killing adds.
