Hey Alexander,
So you can really use materia whenever you want. However i would not go out of my way for it until endgame. Convert your old armor if you don't need and attach the materia earned to your new stuff. Any bonus will help! Save your tier 3 Materia for rank 50 and Ilvl 50+ gearhope this helps.
Is it necessary to level up my mrd all the up 50? Also what level should I level PUG to for second wind and internal release am i going to have to level him to 50 as well?(for DRG)

Well, as a Lancer you probably just want level 12 to acquire Internal Release, Second Wind and Featherfoot.
I'd... Have as a long term goal to get to 42 for Mantra, but that is a very long term goal that is really tertiary
I was wondering.. Do the traits that improve secondary class skills still give the improvements to us when we are in dragoon mode?
Lancer traits work for a Dragoon.
As a general sidenote, don't know if it's been mentioned or not, but it's pretty trivial to land Heavy Thrust while soloing (without Sweep). You just need to jackknife through the mob and use it at 135 degrees or so.
This was mentioned back earlier in the thread but had a minimal response. I was wondering what everyone put their attribute points into? I've put all 30 of mine into STR but I'm curious weather or not that was the right thing to do.
That is exactly what we should do. We have no reason to stick our points anywhere else, really.
I actually meant Pugi and Marauder traits that influence the skills that can be passed on.
