    I know it's gotta be coming eventually, but I'm really looking forward to a non-Bard job for my archer. Virtually anything would be more exciting, but a ranger or sniper seems to make most sense. That being said, with a musketeer-like class looking like it's pretty much a guarantee, seeing as how there seems to already be a spot for the guild in the game, I can see just scrapping my advancement in the archer class and making that my main once I'm able.

    I like speculation like this. I have a feeling Samurai an Ninja will come to the game, but I doubt they will come before an expansion pack. I could see a new city state w/ a more eastern aesthetic as origin places for them. At least that's how I'd like to see it handled. Right now they don't really match the aesthetic or world of the game's setting currently.

    The only problem I see with MRD being Samurai, for example, is a Samurai with an Axe would look kind of silly. Not to mention the base skills wouldn't mesh very well with the class.

    Same with Pugilist turning into Ninja. Though I like the idea of a Pugilist based tank, I think it would work best if it kept the flavor of pugilist (i.e. hand to hand to hand fist weapons).

    and having a Dark Knight in game that uses 1 handed sword and no shield would leave them really low on stats, given the way the game stats out one handed and 2 handed weapons.

    You can't really have a jobs that require weapons which basically aren't in the game currently, it doesn't mesh with the armory system at all.

    Game really could use 1 more healing job and 1 more tanking job though. And 2 jobs per class would be great. I just don't know how we could fit another healer into the whole system.

    I'm thinking a few more base classes wouldn't be bad that could then in turn have different jobs that extend out from them. Thief being one of the staple classes in any Final Fantasy game was just completely left out of this one, which baffled me greatly. Red Mage as well, but at the same token we did get the Arcanist first, where as typically any summoning type class in previous Final Fantasies were not found/unlocked until later.

    I do agree though that we need more healers and tanks. But like you I'm not sure where the particular healing class/jobs would come from and/or how they would heal.

    No Thief? I would rather PUG also go to THF (Thieves do steal stuff with their hands), and have a new class that could be NIN or SAM. Or, I guess it could also make sense if THF was the class for NIN at least.

    A Musketeer could go to something like a Corsair/Gambler and Chemist, even cooler if Chemist could be tied into Alchemist.

    Shepherd could go to Beastmaster or Tamer.

    I'd also love to see a Geomancer/Elementalist and Blue Mage, though not sure from what.

    I'm putting this in every thread like this I see. We are pretty much guaranteed to get the traditional classes from past FF games (THF NIN RDM etc) so why bother continuing to bring them up. I would prefer to come up with new and original ideas for jobs, something they may not have considered.

    I'd love to see:

    Swashblucker: Pug 30 + Fisherman 15

    Pirate: Archer 30 + Fisherman 15

    Bombadier: Archer 30 + Alc 15

    I think they should have some Jobs require the crafting professions to add an interesting spin on things.

    I was gonna ask about an orator job but then maybe that could be for musketeer because I remember orator used guns.
    So they can talk shit to bosses and it debuffs them and/or say a string of words to aoe buff allies like strength or whatever.

    I know Dark Knights ha two-handed in XI, but I like the idea of the more traditional sword+shield kind as seen in IV. I know Yoshi said he wanted DK to have two-handed, and that he said it would be the counter of the Paladin as in be a GLD job. But if you make a GLD a two-handed user, you lose alot of attacks like Lob and Bash, and it just doesn't make sense to me.

    If I had my way on it, I would make it 30/15 GLD/THM, and have the story line of it be that the Flame General himself is in reality a DK (look at the sword and shield he carries) and that is how he managed to take on and win every fight. Maybe make it that it is some lost order, the Lefthand of the Sultanate. Dark warriors who where the wrath of the sultan.
