I find it really weird that so many people use grey weapons over GC ones. Would only take a couple hours max to farm the needed seals.... maybe it's just an old way of thinking but my weapon comes before my gear.

I am pretty late here but you can't promote yourself to Lieutenant without completing the Commander's level 50 quest which is "Complete Amdapor Keep".

You don't even need to bother with the L50 GC weapon, you can farm Wanderer's Palace for the Darklight weapon which is on par with the GC weapon.

Um what? There is no Darklight weapon. The only "weapons" that drop in Palace are the blunted weapons and pieces to make the weapons required for A Relic Reborn. And those weapons are really damned expensive to get crafted or buy depending on the class.

Um... the 'DL' Weapons do drop from wanderer's every time you beat the boss. They're crap though, I got so excited the first time I saw one, the bill, but then realized it was worse than my mog axe :/ I thought darklight was the best? Kinda stinks we gotta farm for the DL armor just to be 'hard' endgame when the weapons aren't up to snuff.

how can that piece of junk stronger than primal wep ? and primal ilvl 70 is decent atm, the mog wep is equal with the garuda one, and DL is not even the best, it is ilvl70 while the other one is ilvl80 or 90 dont remember it well

Okay guy. Because the last boss of Wanderer's Palace doesn't drop Darklight weapons. I wonder why I had this: http://xivdb.com/?item/6274/Darklight-Composite-Bow until I got my Ifrit (and then Garuda's) bow.

They're ilevel 55, same as the GC weapons.
