Or... Get an FC, LS or group of friends who don't care how you gear.
iLevel is about as relevant as Duty Finder Pickups in the fact that it's NOT relevant if you have an FC/LS and don't have to use it.

See this is where my point comes in. Too lazy to get the best GC weapon? But wait a second, the best GC weapon is available once you beat AK, so your point is invalid. That would mean people aren't being lazy with their gear, they are actually doing exactly what you're saying and getting the best GC weapon. It's not really about being elitist. You have to stop being lazy with your gear at endgame because things get difficult. If you aren't properly geared then you're just wasting other people's time. AF is fine for AK but not optimal for speedruns. You should definitely not be using AF past HM Ifrit. And if you're too lazy to at least get the best GC weapon then you definitely shouldn't be doing endgame content.
Except there will be ilevel gear requirements in 2.1. It's stop people from rushing content and doing it unprepared.
I know that. I was referring to HM primals with that remark. I already said AF is fine for AK. AK is actually the best place to start upgrading from AF.See this is where my point comes in. You don't even need to bother with the L50 GC weapon, you can farm Wanderer's Palace for the Darklight weapon which is on par with the GC weapon.
Let's be honest, i've saw a lot of ppl doing Garuda (Brutal) with their AF and even a PLD with a sword lv.30 (he was playing pretty good tho, better than some darklight/relic PLD, but his stuff didn't follow well). I've done Titan yesterday, and let me say that a guys like that won't stay long on his feets.
For High Level content it is a necessity, it's not like you can't farm easily token for darklight, and darklight is enough to reach good amount of HP to survive... What come with high ilvl, it's higher Vitality (and the others stats, but let's focus on this one only).
I've saw the limit, i understand the necessity of it. gear level or not, people won't take you if your stuff is low.

Il est possible de dépassé la limite des 1ooo caractères, il suffit d'éditer son post ~
I am pretty late here but you can't promote yourself to Lieutenant without completing the Commander's level 50 quest which is "Complete Amdapor Keep".
Um what? There is no Darklight weapon. The only "weapons" that drop in Palace are the blunted weapons and pieces to make the weapons required for A Relic Reborn. And those weapons are really damned expensive to get crafted or buy depending on the class.

My bad I thought you were also meaning you should get GC weapon before doing AK, but it does prove that according to SE AK should be possible when you complete the story (with AF). The communities attitude is what puts people off running it because everyone demands perfect gear or leaves and wastes your time. It is the problem with attitudes at the moment in duty finder rather than actual difficulty.
The darklight weapons are the weapons that drop from the Tonberry king - the main reward from doing the dungeon.
