Well of course it might be my fault, but freaking swiftcast+res me anyway, or what are you going to do, stare at my corpse while the party gets wiped? Why are you a healer again?

That depends when the mistake was made. Hardcore raid leaders will always call for wipes when someone makes a mistake early in the game. The instant-raise should be used when everyone is under pressure and thus leading to pressured mistakes, not when someone tunnel visioned early into the fight.

Nevertheless, swiftcast will be one of the basic requirements for raid that's for sure. That's gonna be the same story for dps that don't level their alt dps classes to max their dps, when Recount or whatever parser comes out.

Yeah forget it. Fortunately I always play with my group of friends, a group where everyone covers each others backs and we fix each others mistakes. We also give ourselves advice on how to make the group more efficient by using certain skills or not, and nobody gets mad at all.

After all, that's what this game is about and any other MMO, teamwork. You can keep your elitistic garbage "If you die you suck, I do whatever I want with my class even if it's not beneficial for the group".

A good party does not die. But a bad party with instant raise CAN put it up a notch. Why do people always have to argue with the extremes.

So far i've been in DF runs where if the whm had swiftcast raise, the party could've continued and recovered. I was running as smn btw and jnsta raising ppl. I'm seeing people return almost instantly which doesnt help the party at all, and it just seems people either do not have the concept that they could be raised or just gives up raising and saying it wastes time. Wheres the 1.0 spirit gone when half the party is dead and you can still get back up and recover

Okay. All this raging and ranting over something you can't control. Being able to see an attack and move out of the way. To you you made it perfectly, you've got good distance because you were on the ball. Unfortunatly at the server, along one of the junctions where high traffic is going, there was a 0.5s delay in the signal to you and yours back. Suddenly you're facedown with the classic "Damnit!" because you've been Pingkilled. No problem right? Except the one who was dodging so well was the whitemage. Garuda is pounding down on all the others. The Scholar's pixie is tossing 350-380 heals while the Scholar is pouring down healing on the main tank to keep him up under the onslaught. What to do.

The Tank dodges behind Garuda. That's it! Spin, target, quickcast, Ressurection, spin, Spam heal the tank. There's also that nasty AoE blast she uses at 50% ripping through everyone. That freshly raised Whm who has been selfhealed and pixie healed starts casting Medica 2, it flashes through, quickcast, Medica 2, Bam near full or total full Hp for everyone around.

That's why the OP wants more people with it. So many people just go into random end game parties with the DF however there are tons of people who don't know about quickcast. I've actually been asked how I double healbombed after an AoE. Raise, Heals, Resummons. Quickcast is one of the most OP abilities for casters in the game. Luckily SE was nice enough to let it be shared by the other classes. Oh young scholars you get the ability to access Thau spells around 40 if I remember right.

I agree that having swift cast is useful but honestly if I did my job and you died due to your own stupidity I would rather not waste the cd or mp on you and use it to keep up someone less... Challenged.

Who are you even talking to? Who in this thread has even said that they don't want Swiftcast or won't get it? Seems like the only problem in this thread is the tone of the people who feel entitled to tell healers how fast they want to be raised.
