    But I digress...
Actually AH's will not make Market wards useless. In every mmo I've played with an Auction house, they all have posting limits. Like you can only post x amount of items. Market wards are just a place for those to sell stuff in bazaars. If you ever played ffxi you will see why they are a good idea. And were infact added. Even with an AH in ffxi, hundreds of players had personal stalls set up 24/7 cluttering jeuno and the outskirt areas. This caused unneeded lag in the game. Instead of running your game 24/7 the wards and retainer system was put in place. SE just needs to clean them up.

But that was due to certain items being bazaar-only. If they COULD have sold via AH, they would have. XIV doesn't have that classification of items, meaning everything could be sold via AH.

Actually Market Wards have a limit as well, 10 items on sale per retainer, only 3 more slots than in XI. People still set up their characters with bazaars along the main street in Ul'dah while they're AFK.

Well what was your idea ? i mean seriously i read somebody earlier that said "No jump, why not just give us grappling hooks so we can climb ledges and stuff" just because they felt jumping was to easy and they needed to unecesarly make things hard....

Not really. There were alot of specialized stalls like for food, or certain level range of gear. I played ffxi till this month. I spent 80% of my time running around checking bazaars in jeuno while I waited for a party. Not everyone just sold non ah-able items. Everyone sold different stuff. Like candies during holloween event. Or fireworks for summer. Also goldfish. I've seen ppl sell gear in jeuno. Like stuff you can buy on AH. FFxi AH had a 7ish item limit. So ppl sold stuff in their bazaar and on the AH.

I know... Auction house + 2 retainers. Item slots add up. 20 + 7 if we are talking ffxi. So 27 slot to sell items w/o being log in the game.

But again kinda silly derailing this topic. talking about ah vs market ward when topics about against this.

ostia go read the topic, but long story short my idea was to better organize the retainers in the market wards vs the cluttered mess they are. I proposed an idea and all ppl did was say they disagreed with it. No one gave a better idea. That was on topic.

FFXI accomplished extra AH inventory the same way, extra characters, extra AH slots. The issue of items sold being limited by slot space in null really, except for the fact that they added an extra $2 per extra character for no reason.

Also, I don't know what AH you were using in XI, but I never had to be online to sell my items through the AH...

Sure, you'd find the occasional deal, but most bazaar stuff was stuff limited to bazaars, because people could sell things faster and quicker on an AH. Most of what people sold in Ru Lude Mart was stuff that could ONLY be sold via bazaars or was overflow. Like you said, AH had a 7 item limit - so remove that limit, like, say, WoW does, as well as get rid of bazaar-only items, and the amount of people bazaaring in Jeuno would drop, drastically.
