Actually AH's will not make Market wards useless. In every mmo I've played with an Auction house, they all have posting limits. Like you can only post x amount of items. Market wards are just a place for those to sell stuff in bazaars. If you ever played ffxi you will see why they are a good idea. And were infact added. Even with an AH in ffxi, hundreds of players had personal stalls set up 24/7 cluttering jeuno and the outskirt areas. This caused unneeded lag in the game. Instead of running your game 24/7 the wards and retainer system was put in place. SE just needs to clean them up.
Actually Market Wards have a limit as well, 10 items on sale per retainer, only 3 more slots than in XI. People still set up their characters with bazaars along the main street in Ul'dah while they're AFK.
I know... Auction house + 2 retainers. Item slots add up. 20 + 7 if we are talking ffxi. So 27 slot to sell items w/o being log in the game.
But again kinda silly derailing this topic. talking about ah vs market ward when topics about against this.![]()
FFXI accomplished extra AH inventory the same way, extra characters, extra AH slots. The issue of items sold being limited by slot space in null really, except for the fact that they added an extra $2 per extra character for no reason.
Also, I don't know what AH you were using in XI, but I never had to be online to sell my items through the AH...
