Au contraire mon frere. As it stands, all you need to do is run a previous dungeon one time to get to the next tier.
Now you'll actually have to get some drops lol. Running it more than once is sure to help people get a clue, as well as some gear.
A good start, but there's still more to do. Like making clearing trash worthwhile in end game stuff.

As long as the majority of ppl can reasonably get the item lv gear then this will be a good thing!!!
IF it requires an exaggerated level or require way too many hours of play for most folks,then ffxiv will begin the decline soon. mark my words.
Please do not turn this game into elitists only or like so many others it will dive too fast.
Be reasonable se, very reasonable and this idea will be a positive addition.
I agree with a form of item level, I do, but dont go "ff anal" and think everyone should play 345 hrs to gain access to 1 dungeon, thats all

Maybe giving us a single tome of philosophy per trash mob? I mean really, I love that sacpulling speeds things up--but that's not how dungeons were intended to be run. That's not the real experience.
I'd love for trash to be more interesting, a bit more challenging, AND offer some sort of concrete reward for killing it.
Anyway, those really are some good changes. Now if only they would make the game less clunky in 2.1 too. This is the only MMO I've played where trying to melee a moving target fails 90% of the time.

Think of it this way.
Each player has a mark out of 10 for gear, and a mark out of 10 for attitude (willingness to learn and general ability to perform).
Currently when you queue DF for any content the players you are given can fall anywhere on these two scales. For example, you are with 2 friends and queue AK for a 4th pick up. That person could be 1/10 on gear but 10/10 on attitude. Or 10/10 on gear but 1/10 on attitude. If you place a restriction on the first scale (gear) then you are in fact increasing the probability of clearing content since you are reducing the probability that your DF random player will be low on both scales.


The item requirement feature are probably requested by the regular duty finder party..
I have seen most of the JP party just all leave if someone join with full AF1 gear. They seem to only want darklight or darklight mix and primal weapon only. They claim that without everybody except whm using primal weapon, then titan heart (2 round) won't be destroy in time.
