I take it the OP actually said something before the item dropped? "Hey guys, I main SMN, but jumped in as SCH so we all didn't have to wait forever and could get a run going. If the SMN book drops, could everyone pass so I can still get it?" Sure, you'll still have your derps that roll greed anyway, but at least it is a precursor and you'll likely have more chance than having said nothing at all.

That, or be some what social and go in with a premade or something. Next we'll have to implement something that takes into account how many runs you've been on and have that as the deciding factor for who gets the item when multiple classes need it. Two DRG in the group? Well this one has been 24 times and you've only been 23 times, so the other guy gets it by default. Sound fair right? No?

Ah, someone posted when I did. Yes, in fact I did say something. A few said they already rolled greed. All they had to do was leave. The responce I was given. Leave it up to god.... really. That was the person who got it then insulted me by apologizing for it.

As a summoner you put your bonus stats into INT correct? Which makes you a less than optimal healer already... unless of course you spend all your Seals re-specing...

You're supposed to play something because you want to play it, not force yourself to play it because you think you have to.

If you don't want to play Scholar, then by all means abandon it. It's no concern of anyone else's.

Ah fair enough; I had a similar situation where the SMN book dropped and had a couple of other non-ACN based classes roll greed, however I also didn't say anything until after the book had dropped. Although I tend to find myself in pretty much full pre-made groups these days, if there is even one random/pug I'm sure to mention that despite coming in as SCH, I'd still like the SMN book if it drops (and no one else needs it). Sometimes communication works, and sometimes people derp are still screw you over.

I was unaware that people's greed rolls became invalid once they left; would it have been an option to wait out the 5 minutes for everyone to leave?

Don't get me wrong. Scholar is somewhat enjoyable. Keeping others alive. However I much prefer summoner, no matter how much they mangled the awesome primals into their mutated forms they have now. I will keep with it in the hopes they may fix it or someone points out how to Dat switch. Then I'd wait for someone to make mini versions of the real primals before I toss those egi forms out the door and enjoy the real thing.

Nah if the timer hit's 0 then it nulls you out and rolls the others. As for saying it beforehand. Been trying almost a week to go past Garuda with most of the fails due to Bail outs on first whipe. I kinda got tired of repeating myself.

Vitality actually. I dunno how many times I've survived AoEs with less than the 300 Hp those 30 points bought me.

People who switch to tanks and healers should be rewarded for lowering queue times for everyone, not forced to add yet another attacker to the queue because you have to be on it to roll need.

I'm a tank so I have no issue about this topic at all, but if this allows me to roll on a DPS gear, you've got yourself another problem.

Though seriously, this is how I vision that statement:
"Since nobody's cooking yet, let me get this dinner going. But because I went out of my way to cook, I'll have the food for myself if it turns out good. If it's crap, nobody can eat them anyway. In short: you don't get to eat."

I'm sure a lot would rather wait than having to run the dungeon while having reduced chance on the drops.

So punish DPS for actually waiting 1 hour and they can't even roll on anything.

Since healers aren't nearly as rare as tanks, tank should have most superiority..
