Scholar/Summoner and Chest loot

Both level together. level one you level the other. If your summoner is your main but has 1h+ waiting que well I personally use Scholar and nver wait longer than 15 minutes. So what happens if my main job weapon drops.

I can't need it. I can use it. I want to use it. I need it for the main I do stuff with. However because of the glut of DPS jobs people love I have to use Scholar rather than stand around doing nothing for hours on end becuase Chocobo is locked away.

Why rage now? Finally beat Garuda. Finally. Summoner main weapon dropped and went to a Dragoon who wasn't even leveling the damned job. And what was truely insulting? She apologized. If you're gonna feel sorry about doing something on purpose. DON'T DO IT.

The need/greed system is stupid in this game anyway. It's a system designed for games where you can only play one class per character in one where you can play all of them in one. People who switch to tanks and healers should be rewarded for lowering queue times for everyone, not forced to add yet another attacker to the queue because you have to be on it to roll need.

At the very, very least they need to add a tier between greed and need for "need on another class/job" so you can at least lot ahead of people who are just going to give them away for GC seals.

There is no such thing as "taking healer spots." The duty finder is waiting on tanks and healers. For everyone that plays one of each of those, two more people queued as DPS get in. The more people staying queued DPS because they can't get the gear they want otherwise, the worse the situation is for everyone.

i get to need roll on blm things, i cannot need roll on tank things

i decide to queue as bard, i want my scholar book

Not even close to what I said.

The point is this:
Let's say you have a tank which is already decked out in the best tank gear dungeons/bosses have to offer. You also play a job which has to queue as DPS and want to get equipment for it. Given the current system you have to queue as that DPS job in order to have any hope of getting the equipment that drops; if you enter as your tank job you'll be forced to roll greed with everyone else who can't equip it and just picked that to convert it to seals or if they ever level that job, etc.

You are now one DPS in a veritable sea of them waiting on more tanks and healers to queue up. If you were allowed to get something for your DPS job while still playing your tank, not only would you get in nearly immediately, but so would two people queued as DPS who have probably been waiting for an hour or more. Not only that, but your party would likely fare better given that you're already decked out in good gear, rather than playing something you need the drops on to be better.

More people joining as tanks and healers means more runs for everyone (at least to a certain point), but the way the system is set up now discourages people from doing so and encourages everyone to make the problem worse by joining as the job they want gear for. For people actually queuing as DPS, yes you might have more competition for drops, but you're also no longer waiting two hours to even get into the damned thing.

That system isn't fair if there is only 1 or 2 items per boss. Even less fair when there are only 4 players (or 8) going for that 1 item. Imagine if you wanted healing gear as a healer, but half of the DPS also chose to get gear for healer. You'd have 5 people going for 1 item, severely hurting the person who wanted it for their main spec that they queued as.

It works better in a system like WoW's LFR where loot is individual. Loot is not individual here.

It's fine the way it is. If you want a piece of loot for a class/job (even a parallel job for the same class) you enter the DF as the class and job you want that loot on.
This is the fairest system. Sorry that DPS spend a long time in the queue. There are many reasons for this, but it comes with the class/job's territory.

Otherwise, greed and hope for the best.

What you describe says abuse. So I will que as a under-geared tank have DPS and healer pull my weight while I tank badly to get equips for my "main" class? This is the inevitable outcome.
