First off...why do you care what other people look like? Why is it a problem if people change how they look? Why have a cooldown at all? Why make it even cost anything at all short of changing race or gender?.

Character appearances were the only way to tell certain baddies (eg, those who stole extremely rare gear or large sums of gil, not just "I don't like this guy" or "this guy is a bad player") from their LSs back in XI when said character changed their names after they moved servers. There were specific sites that were devoted to warnings. Anyone remember the person who faked their own death?

So yes, appearance is important. I vote for limiting it to once and once only.

And for the love of God, no. I don't want cash shops in any form. There's a reason why we're paying a monthly fee.

Seriously? You realize you are not playing XI here. You are telling me the race/gender of a toon is how you will tell when someone is a 'baddie' if they've transferred from a different server and have a new name? You can't be serious...

People will abuse options for world-transfers as well as appearance changes, that's a fact.
That's essentially like saying; "One person stole an apple, so no apples for anyone else!"

If they don't offer minions/gear/weapons, it's fine.

As you can already see the minions, Odin/Behemoth gear and summer wear aren't purchasable for real world currency.
It's a slippery slope, but as long as they don't offer anything above changing your characters gender/appearance we should be fine.

(At least people can't steal gear anymore) The Need/Greed/Pass system is makes it very difficult to 'steal' anything.
