Reason I'm asking is because I'm having a similar question with OP. There are two people want to play the game in my house hold. And for now we are playing using the same account. But eventually one of us will create a different account but not sure what would be a cost effective way to do it (Between buying a PC digital copy or buying a PS3 physical copy).

I tried to log in with a different account with PS3 (not yet registered), but the login ID filed is grayed out. So my question was if we want to play using the same PS3, would inserting a different disc allow logging in with a different account?

It's not the disc that matters.. It's that each of you must have your own unique game key for that platform. (as I understand it)

Yes, if you wish to use a different account, the other person has to have a separate subscription and must have purchased the game separately for each platform that they wish to access it from. It is unfortunate, and it would be nice if SE had an "upgrade" fee to add an additional platform, that was significantly lower than the actual cost.

Its all about registering that PSN code and Product Key to that specific square enix account.

You have to buy a PS3 version of the game to get those codes sadly. But after you open the case and get the codes and attach them to your account , only one copy of the game is needed to play.

As for the sqaure enix launch Page greying out the ID, that is attached to your PS3 local account then when you sign in with your psn account for the first it locks that id to it. Not sure why but it does. Hope that helps

Some people seem to misunderstand. I own a copy of FFXIV. My brother owns a copy. I can log my account in on any PC I want to, as can he. He can also log in on his PS3. I, however, cannot. I am not arguing that there is a way. All I am asking is if SE could allow any account to log into any platform without having to purchase a second copy just to play the same account on a different platform. I would not have a problem with having to tie it to another PSN account, but to do that I would have to buy an additional license. I am not complaining here ... just wondering if they have thought of making this possible. It seems a little weird to me since my Brother can play on both PS3 and PC without having to spend extra, but I would have to spend another $40 to be able to play on a PS3 with the license I already have.

FFXI was different than this. I owned FFXI on my PC and my brother again had the PS2 version. I could log in my account on the PC or the PS2 and he could do the same.
