Fun stories, I want to join!
Ifrit, normal mode, pug. The two dps didn't talk all the time, even when asked if it's their first time. They don't move from the fire on the ground most of the time. They don't kill the nail. At all. Even if specifically told to do so. Needless to say we wipe like 5 times. The last time suddenly they wake up and destroy the nail, but I die an instant before the boss, and obviously nobody has a ress. So everybody gets completion but me. Luckily my FC mates did it with me after, I didn't wanna dare DFing it again.

Toto Rak...final boss, everybody keeps attacking the boss and ignoring the adds,or anyway the adds keep coming much faster then they're killed. I thought it was me screwing up and not managing to keep up with heals that caused that wipe, but then I ran it again with FC for someone else and the fight was a joke.

Early dungeon, one of the dpses tanking, the tank being a total leeroy...luckily in such places nothing bad can happen.

Not my horror story but my brother's. Yesterday my brother was running Tam Tara with a PUG. He was running with a tank, an archer and a pugilist. After the tank would pull mobs, the archer would then start dpsing them from POINT BLANK RANGE. Like... He was practically meleeing them. And then after a while he'd pull hate on himself and still just stand there while the tank did nothing about it. The pugilist did nothing for half the fights because he was busy lagging/ dcing.

As for my own horror story, I have plenty. Here's one from my Haukke Manor run today. The tank we got was decked out in Blue Gear (rare gear) and so he pulls the first mob WITHOUT FLASHING. Obviously I have to heal him at some point. I keep waiting for the flash but it never happens and I heal him any way. Like so many other of you who experienced the same thing, I pulled hate and we wiped. I had to tell the tank TWICE to flash mobs. He did start using flash but never spammed it enough and dps kept pulling mobs off him through out the dungeon. I'm so sick of PUGs right now.

I had a tank last night that kept turning the first boss of Stone Vigil *towards* me and the rest of the party. For those of you that haven't done this dungeon yet, this boss is pretty much just a frontal-cone-AoE machine.

Needless to say, we died hard and fast when I ran out of mana about halfway through that fight.

Heres mine... duty finder to Ifrit HM i go in as a PLD i get ask by the other pld "omg your black?" i say "and...?" he goes "ewww" What the eff is wrong with people....?

It was a dark and stormy day, when my controller decided to crap out for seemingly no reason. This forced me into changing to keyboard. I made macros. I'm not used to this. Watch out... I'm in the duty finder, and my queue may put me with you!!!

This happens back at 1.0, on instance called "Hamlet Defense" which ppl love and loathe.

This certain someone at first assign me as whm even tho I'm not big fan of that job, but I relent. Does help me learn more playing whm effectively.
But then he keeps me on that job, even though I would rather play other jobs, namely brd or pld.
Added with several complicated matters, several months later I quit doing hamlet with him and rather doing with pugs which I enjoyed way more often, even if I have to use whm again. But at least I've gotten to learn playing other jobs and doing good at it.

Since then, I'm a bit resentful with whm. Back in beta, I did lvl cnj from scratch again and plays it often on dungeons which wasn't all bad, learning how to manage my enmity with it. Still, I won't gonna do it, unless there's a certain emergencies.

I did start playing XI after XIV final save. And during my time there, I got a glimpse of how whm could become similar burden like I have with hamlet. And thus... I haven't also grinded my whm in XI too. Not gonna make the same mistake again. lol

I've been lucky so far, I haven't had any terrible experiences in a dungeon yet (I'm only 31, so yea...I'm sure that will change lol). But my first time going through Toto-Rak I had a MRD who I thought was taking a ton of damage. I was having a really hard time keeping him alive. It wasn't until the last boss that I noticed I had been in Cleric Stance the whole time. I even looked at my buffs multiple times during the run and just didn't notice it lol. It was pretty embarrassing, but after I turned it off everything was fine lol.

In most of the dungeon runs I'm in I try to give the tank a few seconds to grab hate before I start to heal. It usually ends up with me still pulling hate standing far behind the group. Am I doing something wrong? I literally wait 4-5 seconds before I cast my first heal.

I usually start casting adloquium the moment they take any bit of damage for the shield, and decent tanks don't lose threat on anything, so no, it's not your fault.
