Not easily. XD I know some of the early dungeons gave me a 200 gil reward for helping a first-timer... I assume it varies by dungeon, and the bonus seems to stop in the 40s?
Level 40 Guildhests give 240 gil for completion after the first win (Maybe more for speed?), and one can be done in a couple minutes.
FATEs tend to give... What, 80-100 gil? At least the higher ones. Considering how many people are doing nothing but spamming them to 50, that's a lot of gil being introduced.
And of course, NPCing junk is random. I might get a junk piece of armor I NPC for 70-100g, or mats I don't want to hold onto for 1-7 gil.
Dungeons also introduce more gil via currency, but that's not entirely reliable.
Quests give a lot of easy gil, and I know some people are creating more than one character due to this fact.
And... As much as I hate RMT, they do bring in gil to the world.
All of these things, except quests and SOME leves (mostly tradeleves and handing out self-farmed HQ items) are a net loss to you as a player. Running dungeons costs me more gil than I can make in one run, and I can't sell any of the gear to vendors in endgame dungeons.
So everything you listed? Gil sinks because of repair costs incurred.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is a major problem and it needs to be addressed very soon.
Maybe you just need to not die so much, 'cause I sure make more in a day than I lose just dicking around and running dungeons. All of these things, except quests and SOME leves (mostly tradeleves and handing out self-farmed HQ items) are a net loss to you as a player. Everything I listed? XD MOST leves shouldn't even scratch your equipment, and the guildhests I mentioned take all of a couple minutes. You're not taking much damage. FATEs end in literally seconds to minutes... Your gear is not getting damaged, unless you keep dying.
Though, I will be fair here - I do think they need to adjust gear duration for tanks. It obviously makes more sense for a tank's equipment to wear out faster, but it's not very fair in the grand scheme of things. Sure, they get easy invites, but even Yoshida's complained there aren't enough tanks. Of course, if people insist on dying to progress in Amdapor Keep, a larger repair bill is fitting. :P
I think lowering the repair cost could fix this hole Problem. At least for me the repair costs are the Problem. In v1 it was cheaper and easier to get the things needed for repairs.
And it would interfere much less with the economy then introducing quest with much gil as rewards.
i'd second that on cheaper repairs, especially if they could also make dark matter farmable again (which would provide more incentive to level crafts & gathers to boot)
