Does anyone know if you'll need to pay for the game again once the ps4 version is live, or if it's possible to still play on the ps3 even after the ps4 version comes out (for those who cant get the ps4 right away....)?

They haven't announced anything in regards to this one, yet.

When PS4 was announced UBISOFT and SCEA announced that if you own the PS3 version their games can be bought at lower price for the PS4 version. Which is alright, but imo not the best move, if I know that I'd rather wait for the PS4 version from beginning. Now if SE can pull off a free digital upgrade for PS3 version owners for XIV since it's already subscription based after purchasing the original product, it will be a big plus for their player base imo. Only issue I see between PS3 and PS4 is that PS4 requires PS+ to play some network games, but I think some games are not going to be affected by this rule, hoping XIV isn't one of them.

There's actually a precedent for Square Enix, even if it isn't for PS4. When they released Dragon Quest X for the Wii U, all those that already bought it for the Wii got the chance to purchase the digital download of the Wii U version from the Square Enix store for half price. I expect them to do pretty much the same for #FFXIV. Same circumstances, both are pay to play.

　Yep forgot about DQX and how they did Wii and WiiU /nod, if it's half price it should be good enough for majority. I would definitely upgrade to PS4... dunno when my original PS3 is going to break...lol

Lol I have an original 60GB one too, bought on day one. One day it started smoking. I opened it, dismantled it piece by piece, cleaned every part, replaced the thermal paste on CPU and GPU and now it still works like a charm

Sony has told that all the cross over games that are bought on ps3 can be bought to ps4 for very cheaper price (i dont remember if it was only digital versions)

And the games that dont need ps+ on ps4 is free to play games.
