    im all for removing the system, but sp gains DO need to be lowered. People getting to max rank in a matter of 2-3 weeks is absurd, at the very least 1-20 needs to be lowered. Why does a rank 1 get 5k sp in one kill? Its been a long time since ive done a rank 1, but from what my friends tell me they easily get 1-10 in less than 10 or 15 minutes. 1-10 Should be a full days work at least.

    Its making ranks seem really petty, and people are blowing past the game without even learning. I found someone at rank 40 who didnt even know how failing leves worked, and wearing a few weathered pieces as well.

    not failing leves = noob cakes now?
    while wearing weathered shit isnt tolerable, but knowing about failing leves doesnt make anyone better players.

    Actually he is very new to the game, and just because he hasnt done it before doesnt mean he shouldnt at least know about it. I was more floored by the fact that he had no clue how it worked and was that high of a rank....

    Surplus EXP is just bad advertising and marketing. Really, who wants to play a game where you (yes eventually) will pay a monthly subscription only to be limited to doing 8 quests every 36 hours and then hitting a FATIGUE so you gain less and less exp/sp till you just wont be able to progress. The purpose is to promote the game and sell it. Not tell people that if they have a weekend to dedicate to their favorite thing to do in their favorite game.. They can't.. Oh cause if they play too long they are punished. lol

    This is just an embarrassing feature, really.

    They need to remove surplus, rid the only true method of leveling atm (guild leves), and bring back the original grind. FFXI was know for utilizing free roaming PVE monsters to progress to endgame and still used them to advance in end game. I had the most fun exploring new zones, exploring new camps, exploring new monsters, and finding new ways and new methods trying to further maximize exp gain with what was available.

    I loved character progression as there was always something to look forward to as far as abilities/spells/gear. Even though I had to spend a good 5-10 levels to achieve the next one, it sure as hell was rewarding and I would notice a huge improvement in numbers as far as taking damage, doing damage, healing damage, and getting things to stick.

    We need all this back!!!!!! This is FF not wow aion or tera~ We need what made the FF11 MMO great and we need to use FF14 to make it even better~

    Aion is a big grind very similar to ffxi anyway. They just added some more quests and made a lot of them repeatable 10 times to help with the grinding. Korean MMO's are such a grindfest.

    Grind can be one way to level, but there should be a lot of different ways. There should be fun, interesting and engaging content that you do for the sake of the content/achievement or a rare item but get sp/exp as well.

    5k SP a mob at rank 1? and you need as much as 15 minutes to get to rank 10? What a noob! (I'm being sarcastic)

    And even if it were harder to rank up, it wouldn't magically make people care. If somebody doesn't care about anything, even after a year of telling this person how do do one thing, this person will still not give a damn about what you say.

    If i want to play one class all day and night all week then i should be able to without being punished for it, especially if i am paying for it. I don't like being told how i can play a game. MMOs are about giving players freedom not restricting them and punishing them.

    Please remove this ridiculous system. It failed the purpose it was intended for anyway.
