I love the argument that because other games are shittier that I should be grateful. God, after playing Korean grindfests I guess I'll never have a place to complain about videogames again! So entitled!
A 4 man faceroll instance drops 1 loot. Why is Ifrit HM dropping the same amount of loot as something like Wanderer's Palace? The whole point of increasing raid size is making rewards proportional.
I'm gonna love it when people defend Crystal Tower for dropping 1 loot piece.
Think back to v1.0, drops were completely random, so someone who only levelled Conj/Thm would be just as likely to get a spear or sword as a tank would be to get a staff or bow. They were untradeable and token drops were random too.
I remember getting 2000 gil and some dark matter 12 times in a row.
I think it\s actually pretty good, the battle takes all of what, 10 minutes, and you have a one and 8 shot at getting a pretty decent weapon early in the game. My guild was able to do 12 run in a very short time the other night and the 5 guys who needed their Ifrit weapon were done.
So what was wrong with the way they had drops set up in 1.0 for primals? Each person popped the coffer and what was in it was theirs and theirs alone. Be it a weapon or items to trade in for the weapon of your choice it was a method we liked. So say I'm missing the Garuda sword from my collection and I want it, I have to greed it now vs just farming Garuda and either getting lucky and it is a drop in my personal coffer or get those totems to later trade in for the sword. You put in the work, the coffer you pop should be yours and not a party wide communal pool.
Woosh?
On a serious note XI hasn't been like that in over 2yrs or so, well tia maybe but ya.
The point being overall it's not that bad, really if you want items now go play a p2w game. Most people like to A: a challenge and or B: To make progress towards gear.
With the token system etc the game seems to be pretty fare imo.

Considering there is (apparently) no limit to how many times you can do this in a given period of time, I see no problem with only having 1 drop per run.
Everyone should get a token to turn in for the weapon of their choice when they collect 5 tokens. Pure nonsense to reward one random player for a team effort. Even 1.x at least had totems.
