I've said it in several other threads, but this is the finest example of:

DON'T HATE THE PLAYER. HATE THE GAME

It took me over 4 hours of active spamming to get in on monday. When I say active, at least 2 login attempts every 15 seconds.

Not a single one of the afk'ers designed the game like this. I'm sorry, but I work at the bare minimum 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week, plus play in a band, plus have a family. If the only way I get to play ffxiv for the couple bliss filled hours a night is leaving my character logged in, then so be it.

Sorry everyone, but if you want me to log out of excalibur, you're gonna have to drag me out in a body bag.


p.s. I at least position my character to look interesting when I afk. Like sit him at the bar in Costa Del Sol or something.

Ditto. I may be an AFKer but I am in full support of an automated idleboot being in the game.

Yep. There wouldn't be a need to AFK if there was a proper login queue and AFK kick timer in place. The queue means you are guaranteed a spot, even if it takes time. So you go home, get into queue, and then you can do your daily chores/whatever you need to do while you wait the line however long that may be. An AFK kick timer makes sure the line moves along steadily as inactive players are removed to make room for active players.
