    Attk does go beyond 999 in ff11 its just until abyssea it wasnt so easily reached and the fact that a gimpy gear person does less dmg than a elite geared person showed that the dmg/attk per mobs defense was scaled correctly. Also a lower lvled elite equipped character in ff11 always did more dmg than a slightly higher lvled gimp geared person . But with the current system in 14 all this crap is thrown out the window the only true deciding factor is your rank; while it played some role in ff11 it wasnt as harsh for the most. No i dont want to play ff11+1 but i do want to keep playing a game that does crap right or trys to make it right this game is still no where near pay to play standards was just lving my archer btw and a lvl 1 bow/arrows was doing exact same dmg as a lvl 11 bow on same mob...... so stop arguing the obvious. In 11 there was a shit ton of dif in the dmg dealt using a higher lvl more dmg weapon; in 14 the difference is mute.

Even when they do finally fix drks lolfail ws traits it prob still wont be enough to close the gap w/ its still on average slower attk speed / swing rate vs hand to hand and warriors insane double attk %s now in place.

    I think everyone knows the stars are broken. More or less for one job or another, for one action or another... but broken.

    Mages does more dmg with it's staff attack, than with most of their spells. Plus a mage with around 40+ STR, attacking with her staff, does more dmg than my Gladiator, with 90+ STR and Flametongue. That, when I don't miss the mob. And yes, I'm using a LOT of Acc equip.

    Everything will be repaired with the new battle system... I hope! :P

    TB > CAPS!! I couldn't get anyone to head out and hold Uraeus still will I did the testing so I went out solo and did a small test sample. I tested Crab Bow +3 with Silver Arrows VS Weathered Shortbow with Warped Arrows. I used Light Shot and Multishot only in this rotation for both tests: Multishot > Light Shot > Multishot.

    Crab Bow +3 with Silver Arrows:


    You nock an arrow.
    You nock an arrow.
    Critical! Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 41 points of damage.
    Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 31 points of damage.
    Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 30 points of damage.
    Critical! Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 39 points of damage.
    You nock an arrow.
    You nock an arrow.
    Critical! Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 39 points of damage.
    Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 29 points of damage.
    Your Light Shot hits Uraeus from the rear for 31 points of damage.

    Weathered Shortbow with Warped Arrows:

    As you can see the Critical Hit Rate + Critical Damage from the Crab Bow +3 is substantial as well as Light Shot normal hits shows a VERY low damage increase. I hope this puts this thread to rest.

    P.S. I DO HOPE STATS GET FIXED WITH THE BATTLE CHANGES. I never contested that stats worked properly, just that SOME make more of a difference than others, no matter how minor.

    Huh? You just proved me right, lol. I do like 25-30 damage on ureus with weathered, and same with my crab bow. You were doing the same light shot damage with both bows, but crit damage was different(because damage varies..but maybe you crit harder with crab bow, but damage is pretty random so no idea you'd need a longer test result to really see why those crits are harder, same damage light shots shouldn't exist AT ALL though, proving me right x_x). Also your acc seemed the same, I'm not sure how that doesn't back me up ? o_o

    You should be missing 24/7 and hitting for a ton less with a weathered bow and warped arrows, but you weren't at all.

    I'm not sure you know what 'math' is but 240 overall damage VS 208 overall damage on the same number of shots is not the same damage. You said in the OP that you were doing 'the same' damage. The light shots are generally 1-3 damage lower with the lower bow and the crits are much lower. My Acc is above 150 with the weathered bow and with nerfed NMs you shouldn't be missing REGARDLESS of what weapon you have. It's an accumulation of ALL gear stats.

    I will agree it is a small test sample, I will do an actual kill, with a large test sample, when I can coax my LS to even bother with an NM. It's going to come out the same though, crits will be larger and light shots with be 1-3 damage more on average - which does, infact disprove your OP. And again I will post my P.S. from above:

    NM is high rank so you've got capped because of the different of your rank and NM rank, the damage is the same no matter what weapon you use
