I actually have used that before, don't make accusations that we don't know how to utilize the skills we have. There isn't much point into using them since stats really don't affect much in this game neither.By being inventive I mean like using chainspell or some of the other abilities typically ignored by people that just choose to heal or buff. By being observant I mean taking your battle seriously and seeing it's going ons. You can't just spam things without thought because combat does change when the mob lasts longer than 1 minute. (Aka not leve mobs, bascially.) And being an asset to your team in the full way people are capable of goes beyond buffing before a battle, then healing during it, then putting your weapon away to gain mp, heal as necessary, rebuff as necessary. There is a lot of down time there where they could be casting useful spells. Even if you wanted to be a fully supporting mage, why not use the debuffs like Absorb ATT and etc with initiation? Not only do you debuff the mob, and buff yourself, then you can use initiation to transfer those buffs over to the tank or another person in the party. That is being inventive and an asset to the party without the tons of downtime where you're doing nothing when just healing or buffing.
