Fates are fine. Eventually people will finish their first job and realize there are no other gear handouts to level subsequent jobs. Dungeons will become more viable as a path for gear and experience when they run out of quests. The only reason people are leveling so fast right now is that they are getting gear from quests and grand companies to supplement the exp that fates provide. After the first trip to 50 your choices are crafting, buying, or grinding dungeons for gear. Grand company gear is spread out well enough to force people into dungeons.

What? If they did it with one job then they'll be able to do it with another job. What are you talking about? Besides they can get much of their gear from all the seals they farmed from their main job. Also it' snot like you need to be really geared for fates, plenty people do it while they're under geared.

Yes, they can get GC gear but it is not distributed like quest gear and will require other items to be geared decent for early progression. Currently fates are extremely popular but the accelerated leveling speed is only sustained from the combination if quest rewards and GC gear. Sure, they can be gimp and spam fates but that is their choice. Just as it would be their choice to spam dungeons with the same equipment. The initial gear supplement will no longer be available forcing players to acquire gear in other ways. Some players will always circumvent one system for a quicker alternative. Players have a large selection of classes to level and fate may not always be the first choice. (After guild wars 2 I can only take it for a short time before I choose to do something else.) Players are rushing their first job to endgame and the "problem" will eventually work itself out during future progression. Fate and dungeons are options no different than choosing to quest or grind mobs. Some paths are more efficient than others but all are still viable. The combination of fate exp, quest rewards, and GC seals is the perfect storm for advancement. The quest gear supplement will be removed upon completion of the first job. Once removed there is not a good enough GC gear selection (For the first 30 levels or so) to cover advancement at the same rate as before. Dungeons and the AH will begin to fill that void for most players.

The message I take away from this is that you are displeased with dungeons not being the fastest path of advancement. I believe popularity will eventually increase based on the forseeable drought of quest gear and quality of green dungeon drops.

Of course people will run out of quests, but they will still have the gear from the ones they've done already, it's not like that just turns to dust on you. They won't have any real reasons to farm the dungeons. GC gear is easy enough since fates will fill your company seal wallet.

Best case, a person runs the low~mid level dungeons enough on one job to get all the drops from it then never returns, leveling at most 1 class in this way to get it all. More likely, they get 0~2 pieces from when they had to run them for the story line and supplement the rest with bought gear, mostly GC with the seals from fates.

Consider that a person who is willing to speed level anyway isn't really concerned with gear or learning the class/job/role, they aren't going to be concerned with 'perfect' gear for each class/job.

I am not arguing that they will not eventually have enough gear to skip it all together. The basis of both of my previous comments was that they will eventually end up in a dungeon. You call it "best case." I call it the reality of the situation. Fate is solo content and dungeons are group content that rewards with gear and exp. If someone doesn't want the gear then they don't have to do the dungeon. Speed levelers will always rush through content and I applaud SE for not having a knee jerk reaction to it. They are like RMT an issue yes but a problem you can control, no.
